Been out for a few years now and thought I’d get one on a Black Friday deal.

Wish I’d never bothered. An absolute pain in the arse to install with the worst set of instructions (or lack thereof) I’ve ever had the misfortune to get.

Hot water a plenty, which to be fair is an improvement on before, but now the radiators are lukewarm in the morning and just not working in the evening.

The app is about as much use as Carlos Costly.

Got it fitted in both my house and my caravan and it works perfectly. Maybe the thermostat is not communicating properly with the boiler.

Don’t know why I’ve been downvoted for that. I install them at work. Just trying to find out some info.

I think you are taking the the whole 'bants' of the up and down votes to close to heart - its just a bit a fun (and a chance to rile Rab everytime he mentions Paul Heaton).

Anyway I've given you a down vote for moaning.

Fair. He’s probably got the heating on schedule setting, stat is to close to a heat source.

The thermostat originally was on the landing but has been in the living room since I finally managed to install it.

It’s talking to the receiver and hub as the boiler is giving out hot water and the heating does come on in the morning, it turns off in the afternoon though

Are you sure you havent scheduled for the heating to come on in the morning and switch off in the afternoon?

Wherever the stat is once it hits the temperature target it will not call for heat. Try putting the stat where your old one was and see if that makes a difference. I see it a lot because it’s all shiny and new people want to look at it.
What I’m saying is if it’s set for say 21 degrees as soon as it gets to 21 degrees in you’re lounge it will turn the heating off. Your lounge is probably the warmest room in the house apart from your kitchen if you’re cooking.so the rest of your house won’t feel warm.

I had it in the lounge as it was actually the coldest room in the house but I’ll try it back where the old one was and see what happens.

Regarding the schedule, I did think about that that so scheduled it to never turn off, just adjusted the temperatures for when we weren’t in or asleep etc

Thanks for the advice chaps

Ive got hive. No issues since fitted 2 years ago and its only just asked for new batteries.

Get the house nice and toasty before I get home.

Fair. He’s probably got the heating on schedule setting, stat is to close to a heat source.

Someone should tell him to check the TRVs too, many new users expect the Hive set up to override them - no logic to that - and find their TRVs are limiting the heat

Where have you positioned your thermostat?

Is the obvious answer.

Had mine for thick end of a decade. Never had any trouble with it apart from a new set of batteries every three years or so.

Was out in the cold all day Sunday, so the option to whack the heating up remotely half an hour before getting home so it was lovely and warm was much appreciated...
the odds are against us, and the situation is grim

Yeah exactly the same experience.

My had it fitted with my Baxi and neither have been a single bit of trouble.
