I need to make some notes on the recommendations on here.

I've never really done the audiobook thing, i've always preferred an actual physical book.

What would be the best site to access off the phone for in the car or train?

The obvious one is audible. Your library will give you access to borrowbox or something similar, usually a waiting list for anything decent though

You get something like 17 hours ‘free’ listening per month with spotify and there is plenty of choice.

A Last English Summer by Duncan Hamilton.

A journey through the 2009 cricket season from club to Test cricket.

Hamilton is an excellent writer; my wife is reading his book about the 1966 World Cup.

His book about Clough won the William Hill Book of the Year.

After that read the Dark Tower series 👍

This. You've got the 7 series books, plus The Wind Through the Keyhole. The Gunslinger (book 1) is short and pretty trippy, they take a more orthodox approach for the rest of the series.

I'm a fantasy nerd, I'm currently on The Wheel of Time book 4 (The Shadow Rising) I think I've got a neither 8 or 9 to go, it was a bit daunting starting such a long series (long even by fantasy standards) but I'm enjoying it. Its a shame the TV series got cancelled just as it was getting really good.

I've come to terms with the likely outcome that GRRM will bever finish ASOIAF. I think he was shocked by the hatred of the series finale, and is frantically trying to re write the shite ending.

Just finished wheel of time loved them. The books will start to get shorter for you know as the first 4 off memory are a big old chunk whereas they’ve been split into 2.

Not sure if you live anywhere near lichfield but if your haven’t already got all the remaining books you can have mine as I’m not one to keep them and I’m looking to get rid anyways.

I think the main problem with Got is that the TV series ended up so different to the books, I don't think that Martin had much input if any in the final series.

Completely agree. Very Similiar to the Witcher and Wheel of Time also. I don’t get why studios buy these rights to these beloved books and then change them, they’ve only bought them due to their popularity, why change them then?

Witcher is a prime example especially with Cavill on board they should have just had him direct it.
