I spotted him as ideal for our under 21’s initially with a view to being a first team option in time due to his scoring record, pace and power. Can’t be too difficult . My electric bill isn’t £100 per month either. Never mind 90k a month

Moxley is just doing his job and you hang onto his every word at your peril.

In the history of football transfers has the word ‘completed’ or ‘done’ ever been announced by a journalist before the actual club announce it and for it to be 100% reliable wheather it be Moxley,Pearcy or any other journo.
Just for reference a player is only done, completed or signed when the club announce it.

I don't think any one here believed Moxley when he said it was done or completed, they are just pointing out his sloppy journalism.

Also not convinced that's his job, he could have garnered just as many clicks with a slight rewording and wouldn't have trashed any remaining reputation in the process.

He reported that Manneh had signed. As fact . In reality he hadnt had his medical. It's utterly shit journalism unless he's more interested in clicks than personal credibility.
Stick yer flag up yer arse.

When I saw it on Sunday, my initial thoughts were that the deal has been agreed and one that it could potentially drag out throughout the week or so. I feel it will be the same with Solis as well or any other deals, this is not FIFA or Football Manager when you can do deals in the space of 5 minutes.

i work on the assumption that if it hasn't happened within 48 hours of the rumour, it probably isn't happening
i lost confidence in this one on Friday.

Genuinely, I do that.

Give it two or three days from the point of first concrete rumour (not just one site) and then wait.
If it aint happened by then forget it.

Not aimed at you Stechy. But some do believe everything rumour wise. Just wait for confirmation. Moxley isn’t in the know. Few are. So the stick he gets is unwarranted as most should know he tells porkies by now. Even Mayor got pelters after Stansfield signed, and still does about it from some. Mayor didn’t actually say he wouldn’t sign either. Miracles obviously do happen. The club confirmed it

He’s a journalist that covers football transfers. For him to sensationalise or get the coup is his job.
Even if he does go early and takes a gamble.Thats the very nature of what he does in the field that he is in.As fans we can take it or leave it.

Fair enough, but I don't any of the other local journos doing it.

Moxley must know his credibility as a serious journalist comes under scrutiny every time he does go early with these claims he makes.Historically known as ‘yellow journalism’ but I do wonder if he’s bothered.
Bottom line is if he rings the bell most of us will take notice so you could argue he’s doing his job quite well if you look at it another way.

I have no personal knowledge of the situation, but it seems to me there’s a fair bit of transfer-related smoke surrounding this guy/his agent.
Might well mean there’s a fire somewhere…….
