Some Brum schools have already announced that they're closed tomorrow. I suppose they're worried it might get rained away overnight and they'll be left with having to go in. Shrewd move.

Some have also announced an inset day Monday, to give a nice 4 day weekend

I have the utmost respect for this kind of decision making.

Rugeley: Just got back from attempting to pick the Mrs up from work at Tamworth, got on the A38, closed both ways, police diverted us though the HS2 works, I've had to leave her there for the night, she's a carer, she's safe and warm, I'll figure it out in the morning.

The reason for the post:

Make the arrangements now, Stay in bed tomorrow if you can, don't even try as its a nightmare you don't need, make it a long weekend.

Stay safe.

It did read a bit like you left her at the HS2 works for a second.

Absolutely F all snow here as predicted by me. Was watching the forecast from afar and said 2 - 15cm of snow was heading our way and was being told to get food in after we land.
I said to the missus that we would get nowt and that is what we have got.

As for airports and trains not operating that is just a joke as Canada does not close for the winter.

When I was a kid people used to be able to walk in the snow and ice, play football on a snow covered pitch and fans able to get to and from the stadium.

Now its a few flakes and the Elfs want to stop as much as possible.

My flight to Toronto was delayed for four hours last week because of the weather in Toronto. Toronto has tons of weather disruption and it's cost effective for them to have the mitigation unlike the UK. Good effort, though.

The main roads are pretty clear through Erdington now, bigger problem is flooding starting to build up everywhere as it's now raining on top of the snow thawing quite quickly.

Stay safe all!

Roads by me are a lot worse than what they look, if you’re around marston green I would consider calling in.

Have just had a look around the traffic cameras in that area and it looks like very light sleet. Main roads look mostly fine, if a tad slow, can’t vouch for side streets.

The Mrs has just driven from Erdington to good hope via walmley. Got through fine but rectory road not as clear.

Guess it depends where in Sutton?

...lots of damage around here, unsurprisingly as the wind was horrific.

Reported 98mph in Scilly Isles early yesterday evening and that made its way up to the mainland.

Will hopefully venture out later, no snow obviously so good luck to those hampered by that 😤

Thanks for the update, sounds like I'll be fine.
Please excuse typos or not responding to replies, epiretinal membranes make my world more wonky than it actually is.
