Roads by me are a lot worse than what they look, if you’re around marston green I would consider calling in.

Just when you think you've heard all the excues.

"Sorry gaffa, I won't be in today because a bloke on the SHA forum said it's not safe to."

It’s not the 70s anymore. You can’t bully people into coming into work when they don’t feel it’s safe to n

One of many reasons the world (or at least the western world) is going to shit. Too soft.

Seems a lot of people had made that decision and can’t be arsed to go to work. Haven’t seen the roads this quiet since Covid.

Everybody has gone soft

Think thats a bit judgemental and a bit harsh.

For example, my employers emailed all UK staff this morning and told them to work from home. I'm pretty sure they won't be the only ones.

My gaffer actually messaged me saying if it’s not safe to come in, but fair enough. I guess I’m soft for not going to decorate open new build houses when the site has had 2 accidents since the start of the year…

Jeez, you try to be nice nowadays…

Not miserable. It's just another day for me and they know better here than to take the p!ss. The only one who hasn't turned in is the other side of Brum and reliant on public transport, so that's fair enough.

It’s good that this storm is named after the popular 90s Ice Cream manufacturer Gino Goretti. A fitting tribute IMO.
Gino Goretti seems to get very little credit for his work in the world of gelato. Has Gino been cancelled?! I did google him but couldn’t find any linked scandal etc.

Some Brum schools have already announced that they're closed tomorrow. I suppose they're worried it might get rained away overnight and they'll be left with having to go in. Shrewd move.

Some have also announced an inset day Monday, to give a nice 4 day weekend

No school just 'announces' an inset day.

As for airports and trains not operating that is just a joke as Canada does not close for the winter.

Are you genuinely comparing the weather conditions in winter in Canada to the UK?

Very quiet. Although the person in front of me this morning doing 25 in a 60 (and braking for no reason) because the dual carriageway was wet, probably should've stayed at home.

So after moaning about people not going to work, you're now moaning about people going to work.

Nope, not miserable at all...

Yes, sadly there are a lot of them about, amongst the few people on the road
