Has he improved any players we’ve bought or had on loan was the question I got asked today but you know something I’m struggling with an answer!

If we're talking technical and performance levels: Allsop (Last season), Laird, Klarer, Paik, Leonard, Stansfield

If we're talking tactical intelligence then most of them except Koumas.

He (and the fitness team) managed to get Laird fit for most of a season.

But when he's been fit this season, are Laird's performances much better than two seasons ago at this level?

Yes loads better. Laird is tons better this season than he was when he played for us at this level before. This is evidence that you don’t watch.

Not sure why you keep engaging with him. It must be exhausting.

Eddie Futch the greatest boxing trainer of all time ( probably) was asked "what made him such a great a successful boxing coach".

To which he replied " great fighters" 👍

It’s quite hard to compare a lot of these players whether they’ve improved as we’ve been in 2 different divisions while Davies has been here.

The only ones you could compare are the players who played under us in the relegation season but also you’ve got to take into account we played a different style than when we were relegated and some players like Laird has been injured for most the season

At the end of the day it doesn't matter about opinion, you just have to look at the transfer values. Almost every player bought under Davies is now worth less and we have sold players, or loaned out players for less than we bought them for. This is not just bad luck. Recognising and developing talent is a vital part of the manager's brief.

The last player we made a profit on was Jordan James and it was actually Rooney who discovered him and gave him opportunity. On that bombshell, Davies is actually a competent coach but a worse manager than Rooney

Considering we got 111 points under Davies in his first season and we’ve struggled to sign players who improved for a few years before he came, maybe it’s those choosing the players that are the real problem

I thiknk that might be a problem as well. However, I thiknk Davies does have a say and even the final say in sighning players. I am sure that if suggested a name strongly then the club would oblige and we can see that he clearly signed players from Celtic etc. that he must have initiated himself.

44 posts. Did you used to post as someone else? Seems to me you are on a bit of a wum. I hope so anyway. The line about Rooney is crackpot.

I mean that's all the more reason why, in my opinion, Wrexham have a better idea in appointing someone like Phil Parkinson who has a lot of experience and knows what he is doing in all areas, not just coaching

sorry, am I not allowed to post 44 posts. What's the problem?

No I am not saying that Rooney was a good manager but just because Rooney was bad doesn't meant that Chris Davies is the second coming. If you base it on players that have been given opportunities, improved and whose transfer value has gone up then can you tell me that Chris Davies has managed the squad any better than Rooney did?

Agree 100%. I still can’t believe our back room staff have no experience of the Championship and why isn’t nobody questioning this!
