But why isn’t Davies playing the kids rather than Koumas?

But why isn’t Davies playing the kids rather than Koumas?

Been waiting for this.

The kids who played in that game were majority u18s, not 21s

Did you see Isichei, Bateman, Burrell or Mazwi in the line up?

Come back when you actually know what you’re talking about mate :)

Is this an indiciator of Betteka being off soon, as he played at Coleshill, rather than being around the first team squad?

(I know you mentioned it previously & I've no idea who would be pushing that move - us or him)

That's never stopped B47 before. Looking forward to the random insults that they typically respond with!

It’s not an indicator of anything tbf.

From what I’ve heard he has spent a week at another club but I don’t think that’s going to happen.

As for who is pushing it - it’s a bit more complex than one or the other wanting it and involves stuff I don’t want to talk about on here.

Whatever the reason it is somewhat frustrating, he looked a real talent.

I saw a relatively young Villa side absolutely murder Sutton Coldfield Town - who are very much the same standard as Coleshill - this time last year.

Shows how far we still have to go with our academy.

Going to take a while to catch up after years of being mistreated

Also laying the groundworks of improved youth scouting, better catchment and an overall better academy take years to come to fruition.

Given we only recently gained category 1 status you could argue that U8’s signed this season are joining a much better setup than U8’s 5 or even 10 years ago.

Those players if they are good and make it the whole way through age groups and scholarships are still 10 years away from playing for our under 18s.

Not to knock the lads in our current U16s, U18s and U21s - there is undoubtedly some talent across all of those age groups.

When the academy suffers (as it did with previous owners) young lads and their families are more likely to get their heads turned by other setups. Several players have left us for other clubs in the last 5 or so years.

When the academy is back to its best, heads are less likely to be turned. Scouts will be better positioned to have an edge over local rivals and uncover talent first. Better coaching means the players potential grows. These are all things that stepping stones are in place for - it will just take time.
