Anyone who has moved abroad and is still eating baked beans is definitely an expat and not an immigrant.

It's just a word white English-speakers have made up to not be lumped in with 'bad foreigners'. But enjoy your beans.

I can't imagine how it must feel to go through life seeing race and racism in everything like you do. It's sad. I call myself an ex-pat if I'm talking to other Brits, and an immigrant if I'm talking to Americans. It has naff all to do with the color of my skin, in fact I know Asian and African immigrants here who also call themselves ex-pats when talking to folks "back home".
