What a shame. Loved him on Big Break as a kid and Snooker won't be the same without his commentary. RIP

That cue ball line used to get on my tits, but he seemed a decent bloke and must have had a decent life, although he’s not been in rude health for a while.
RIP
Alive. Early starter. Enricher of lives

I loved Big Break when I was a kid and it’s probably why I enjoy snooker as an adult. An iconic voice in the commentary box too.

His commentary was usually filled with little quips and innuendo…and good to listen to .. r.i.p.

His impressions of fellow players were superb. Terry Griffiths constantly pausing, Alex Higgins running and twitching, Denis Taylor's finger waving celebration and Ray Reardon laughing and joking before missing a simple black!

I should apologise ... Big Break started in April 1991- i'd always assumed you were in your mid 50s

Yeah I agree mate, Big Break was class andwatching the snooker always just a little better when he was commentating. A sad loss, he always seemed a nice bloke

Saw him doing his impersonations a few times during the interval at the World Championships, very funny guy.

That IS sad - had no interest in snooker but he made Big Break essential and hilarious viewing.
Yes ball games.

Saw him at an exhibition match against Jimmy White many moons ago. Did all his impressions after the game. Really funny and came across as a nice guy. Sad news.
