Slightly different issue but I find it difficult to see how Iran can play in this summers World Cup in the USA due to the current conflict.

I think if they withdrew then Asian football confederation choose a replacement. Theoretically that would be Iraq but as they would also likely withdraw then it would probably be UAE

Apparently some Man City fans did too

Flag shagging, little englanders, who probably think it's a sign that Islam wants to take over the UK. People like this is why we have people like Farage.

I find it difficult to see how the world cup can go ahead in the US. Every nation should boycott it.

I was watching the match. It was audible enough, certainly not a majority, but more than a few I think. Seemed a bit pathetic but can’t say I was surprised.

Same here. Ridiculous, those players wouldn’t have had a drop of water for around 12 hours at that point, if nothing else it’s a serious health concern.

I think some of the frustration came from Leeds being well on top at that point of the game. It’s far more nuanced than people hating Muslims.
And if them playing with no water for 12 hours was a serious health risk, that’s on Man City starting them
Alive. Early starter. Enricher of lives

Their matches are on the West Coast, so not exactly prime Trump territory.

Football fans are fickle, if their star player was fasting, I'm sure they would support the break.

Hardly on Man City when they know they’re going to get a break 12 mins in
