We have 18 points from the last 10 games. We’ve lost two games to the teams in second and third. The crisis seems a little overstated to me.

We've come up well short against two sides we are meant to be competing for promotion with. It is more than understandable why people aren't happy.

We either go back to being world champions at sacking managers (I think the last 15 years shows us how that tends to go) or we have a bit of patience and let Davies build. I know which I’d prefer.

We’ve turned into a club where fan sentiment changes based on every 45 minutes of football. I don’t think that’s a sensible way to be.

TBF, The current owners continued that ideal of sacking managers even when in a half decent position in 2023. Lets see what they do in the Summer. It's been alluded to that he will go if we dont make the Play-Offs.

They did. I hope they’ve learned from the disaster last time.

I guess the question is, would it be as much of a disaster if they did the smarter thing and decided to make a managerial decision in the Summer?

I disagree that it would be a smart decision.

There is something in the idea that Davies doesn't make players feel good in adverse moments.

...last night stunk of a lack of belief in themselves, went a goal down after a good start against the run of play and just withered.

Gave away a poor second goal and that was it. Boro had scored first 16 times and won each game, now it's 17....do we have any belief we'd do the same.

Last night we were just not good enough.

A disastrous round of fixtures, all of the top 9 teams won...need a bounce back pretty quickly 😤

Our squad really isn’t top 6. Which of ours gets into that Boro first 11?

That is nail on head .

Mental fragility , over coaching ,tic tacs ....

The truth is the club have spent a fortune in four successive windows ,and the squad are just not good enough for a top six finish .

That's what comes of recruitment by analytics alone. It doesn't take into account players personalities and mental strength. Human input is needed for that. And a manager who can manage people. You sense Davies can't understand why his detailed and rigid instructions aren't being implemented as he wants.

Anyone else think that we are way off where we need to be mentally?

Don’t know how accurate this is but it feels like we’ve conceded goals in bunches a lot this season. One goes in another follows shortly. Also feels like we’ve conceded a fair few just after scoring.

And worse of all, feels like as soon as this team faces adversity, it crumbles.

Are we mentally weak and fragile, or is that reactionary?

In short, yes, we absolutely are fragile in the face of a bit of pressure.

A spreadsheet won't tell you if a player fancies it at Millwall on a winter Tuesday night.

Also comes with time, we expect too much too quickly (because we've been told to), that Boro team has been built over 3-4 seasons. They've got a team mentality.

We lack that at times and it shows.

We were playing in a pub league last year and we shone. A low block and doing well. Not pretty but the manager there knows how to set up for what they have. 2 goals in 10? How many has his replacement got for us? I know it's not comparable in many ways but it is the same sport. No points for being pretty and playing in a certain style. Points for winning or at least not losing. My point is other managers are getting some return from players we could not. We had all the talent last year and were successful. We are not finding a way to get results now.

Not sure if it’s just the watching on TV experience (only seen Hull and Oxford away in the flesh) but it was noticeable to be last night that there seemed to be a lot less ‘togetherness’ across the team: last season i would almost laugh at how much the players were patting each other on the back after a block resulting in a corner, celebrating tackles or good bits of play with each other.

Last night there was a load of frustrated body language, with miss-placed passes. No real reaction to the goals against.

Too many new players? Team spirit not surviving the poor games? Poor motivation?
