Doyle has been off it for a while now but you cant blame him too much when he got benched at every opportunity earlier on in the season an he knows his future isnt with us anymore.

I think he has got benched because he hasn't consistently shown enough when he has played though?

He's not physical enough alongside Paik and he's not brave enough to show for the ball alongside Iwata or Solis. I think he has clear ability but seems to be a player we would have to set up the whole team around to get it from him... and I don't think he is that good.

can you imagine the pressure a football manager is under. Yes you pick the team and do the training/ tactics but if your players cant execute or simply arnt as good on the night as the opposition players you have hundreds of thousands of fans who all think they know better and the manager gets the blame. It must be absolutely horrendous trying to compartmentalise your job from your family life.

I mean my job is stressful and i go home and things all night but football manager must be crazy.

I think I can blame him for not showing for the ball, it's basic courage
Yep. Being brave isn’t about flying into tackles, showing for the ball requires bravery and self belief. Paik is priceless to us for that
Alive. Early starter. Enricher of lives

Looked totally lost for words his mannerisms didn't look good and he is certainly feeling the pressure.

I tend to find the people who don't feel the pressure when it's not going well are pretty much useless.

Players are being asked to play a particular way. Boro were very good at the high press and we weren't really trying to do anything different about it for at least 30 minutes on the pitch. Either a) the players had stopped listening or b) Davies was devoid of ideas and didn't change anything.

I understand the pressure but he was beaten last night by a better person in the dugout.

no doubt. I was just thinking about how much of a horrible job it would be from a mental health perspective when results arnt going your way.

Wonder if the money is worth the stress. What would Davies be on 200k?

hes going to have 2 years left on a 4 year deal in the summer

if he does enough not to get the sack should he be expecting a new deal? maybe something you look at if he's doing well before xmas in his 3rd year next season

I hope we stick with him and he develops as a manager. I also think we'd probably been better off with Leonard and Iwata in there last night. Or Leonard and Doyle with Iwata at right back. BOS showed his limitation at Norwich in the second half and it's becoming a problem.

Yep, I remember not long ago on here people suggesting the club bring in an experienced head to help him and the replies were he would leave if that happened.

He absolutely would.

I think Davies knows his continued employment with Blues is on the line now.

Is this based on any intel from within the club or just driven by common sense?

Thought so.
I’m guessing the big spending in January was a mix of a final push for the play offs and getting the womens sale money spent before the financial rules change in the summer?

club isnt driven by emotion, lot of their decision making is by way of data analysis

if we spent 40m this season on trying to get in to play offs and finish mid table would you consider it an underachievement ?

I dont think time is a commodity any manager has with the amount of investment involved

In which case, nobody tell Waggers that we’re 6th in the league based on Opta stats (think predicted xG - can’t remember exactly).

But yes, wholeheartedly agree. We cannot be finishing 12th with one of the most expensive squads in this league.

There is still time left for CD to turn it around. Given the lack of tactical adaptability, seems unlikely. Genuinely wish him the best luck, get it over the line CD!

We was the better team till we went 1 down the other night one ball over the top caught us out and then till half time we was no way the better team the goal lifted boro . Start of 2 nd half we was again the better team got the goal and boro looked rattled we was closing them down from the front and we looked good ,then we gave away a silly goal again which knocked the stuffing out of us so overall we had 13 mins in the 1st half and 15 mins in the 2nd but the thing which is startling is we concede a goal and we for some reason go flat we never respond to a goal
