Yep. They went wing backs and their shape killed us. We couldn’t beat their press and we couldn’t win anything we tried longer. It was a bit if a mess.

Done a job on us.

Yep, I remember not long ago on here people suggesting the club bring in an experienced head to help him and the replies were he would leave if that happened.

He absolutely would.

I think Davies knows his continued employment with Blues is on the line now.

It’s a shame because I think the majority of us want it to work out.

For some reason I just can’t warm to him and our way of playing, and even a lot of our players because of the way they’re being asked to play.

I have a feeling a pretty big percentage of our fans also can’t warm to him, hence a new thread on him every single week!

We were not the better team by any stretch.

I know people go overboard when we are poor, but even Chemical Ali wouldnt have the bollocks to say we were the better team when we've been done 3-1 at home and their keeper only had to make a couple of saves.

On reflection I was being defensive of the performance because I knew the ‘Davies hate’ onslaught was going to come. We weren’t great last night, we looked really good in spells and awful in others. You talk about their keeper ‘only’ having to make s couple of saves- He made 5, two really good ones. Boro didn’t muster a single other chance apart from the goals, so my point was we weren’t outplayed by any stretch.
We were great until the first goal- then our fragile mentality meant we went to pieces- that can’t happen, it’s pathetic.
However let’s not go overboard- that is just our second home defeat in nearly TWO years and some fans can’t take it. The abuse the team and Davies got throughout the game was ridiculous.

Why did Davies tell BOS to play as a third CH marking their 9 on the D without telling the RHS midfield player he'd need to cover that open space? And I think Roberts does what he's told to do.

I was very critical of Davies earlier in the season and certainly not a happy clapper, far from it.

But i feel he deserves another go next season once all the new players have had a full pre season with him, with also a few quality additions

No guarantee a new manager is going to be the messiah as we've found out many times.
Be careful what you wish for sometimes.

All about opinions

Depends mate, if a manager that’s got a history of promotion becomes available then you go and get him.

Someone like Farke, Parker etc.

They had 3 shots on target all game, apart from a calamitous 20 minute spell in the first half, we were the better team. what's he expected to do with that defending?

Let's look at the data.

We had 11 shots to their 10 - 7 on target to their 3 - but our xG was 0.61 to their 1.07. They also had more touches in our box 25 - 18. Crucially we had 0 one-on-one s to their significant 1. 6 of our attempts came from outside the box compared to their 2.

Where we had dominance was in possession - 60% - and passing. We played a total of 462 passes to their 311, with a pass accuracy of 75.5% to their 69.8%. We also played more forward passes 175 - 135 and more successful final third passes 87 - 61.

Defensively is, unsurprisingly, where we fell apart winning only 20% of our tackles to their 66.7%. We also made less tackles 10 - 15, and less clearances 20 -32.

That last stat is unsurprising given how we play, but overall I think the picture speaks to an ongoing issue in our perception of quality. If we value possession and control of the ball as the key metric, we were clearly the better side. But if clearer goalscoring chances and superior defending is the metric, then clearly they were the better side.

Currently our goal difference is 0 - 46 for and 46 against. There are only 10 teams that have scored fewer and 10 that have conceded the same or more. So statiscally we are pretty much where we deserve to be.

I think we have to remember that the majority of teams don’t go up and keep their manager long term.

You really have to just try and go up and then worry about taking the next step which is survival.

Farke probably won’t be at leeds long term, and if we don’t take him another strong championship club will.

All ifs and buts right now of course.

We are where we deserve to be for sure.
Last night we had a suspect goalkeeper, a defence that’s becoming leaky, a midfield that was over run and an impotent forward line.
To cap it off we had a one dimensional Manager trying to play premiership football with championship players, who chose to leave Vicente and Priske on the bench.
Millwall, Wrexham, Hull and the like haven’t got better players but they’re way above us for a reason.

With another 15m spent on players that Davies seems unable to get a tune out of! Boro came with a game plan, change their system, now that is coaching. What do we do? Play the same way, just like at Millwall.

This. His demeanour has changed. He looked devoid and defeated himself. Something has changed.
