He's played Solis in virtually every game tbf, and had spoken several times about the need for more physicality and athleticism. I thought he was a pretty big miss last night

I'm not absolutely wedded to it but I'm Davies IN

Squad was horribly unbalanced until Jan. Since then 18 points from 10 games which is solid, the last two games have been poor but it's hardly a crisis.

A lot depends on how we end the season but we've rolled the dice many times before and it's not worked out, so there are no guarantees. If we finish relatively strongly I'm sticking.

It would be nice to start a season with the same manager and the largely the same squad for the first time in about 15 years.

This is where I’m at. We’ve not had consistency for a long while and it’s not as if there’s nothing to build on. If we were 19th then fair enough he’s out but there has been good moments throughout the season. He's also not had his head in the sand as for the first half of the season he’s mentioned a need for physicality and not just ignored it

Oh I’m not saying he won’t play Solis now by any means and agree he was a huge miss. What I’m saying is I think he only realised he needed one by not having one. I doubt he was asking for that profile of player in the Summer.

I don’t think he wouldn’t have wanted one, it’s pretty evident we’ve needed one and whilst he’s not everyone’s dream manager, he’s a bright bloke

He’s gone most of his coaching career without one why would you think he needed one?

And where is this automatic assumption that he’s a bright bloke come from?

He was - massively.

I think he”s here for the rest of the season unless, unbeknownst to us, KH have someone waiting in the wings to take over now.

After that I am not sure KH will trust him with another season, a season that will be even harder with the teams coming down and their pedigree.

This was the season to go up and we blew it unfortunately!
Blue since 67 - Will be there at the end of the road, whenever that may be!

I personally don’t see him adapting his mentality which is big problem for me.

Also although he does change our style it is wholesale i.e. moving this season to width and crosses, rather than oppenent driven. I think this is driven from an arrogance bourne out of battering all comers last year.

It doesn’t look like a fun and happy place to work either. Masked by results previously.

I am an Out.

I don't think he got to pick the squad or teams when he was coach.

And, as we discussed the other day, the teams he has been part of the coaching staff have had a big, athletic player in midfield - Ndidi as the holding midfielder at Leicester and Bissouma, Sarr & Højbjerg at Spurs.

Most of his coaching career? You mean one full season with us and 2/3 of this? You’ve got no idea what he wanted or needed, the fact he got one in Jan and noted the team needed power is kind of telling

I’d imagine he’s a brighter bloke than you will ever give him credit for

You don’t think someone’s experience as a coach for a decade would influence their philosophy?

And as I pointed out to you the other day which you didn’t respond to. Ndidi did not play on that role for Leicester, until Maresca came in and actually had success. Hojberg never played in that role. I’ll give you 1 year of Bissouma but I’m thinking more of his time with Rodgers which was 90% of his coaching experience.

Is this his first coaching job then? Amazing he even got it with no experience in football before.

I actually imagine that he’s not. He strikes me as a top Universoty graduate that has everything on paper but is very incapable of original thought.

You think he was responsible for recruitment in his first team coach roles?
