You think he was responsible for recruitment in his first team coach roles?

You don’t think what he’s spent 90% of his time doing/watching influences his philosophy?

Is it just a wild coincidence that this team is set up almost exactly like a Brendan Rodgers team?

And yet he’s asked the club to bring in more powerful players and a ball winner in midfield

Didn’t Leicester have players like Ndidi?

He’s clearly adapting

You don’t think he’s bright or competent, I do. Probably not much further to add is there.

Yeah, even if we say he didn't want one (not convinced), then he clearly did in Jan (his second season as a manager) and therefore it would demonstrate he is learning and adapting.

I also agree that he seems very intelligent, it's subjective, but imo he consistently recognises what went wrong and what our shortcomings are.

Also, Brendan Rogers has a Championship promotion, an FA Cup, a 2nd place Prem finish and nearly a dozen other trophies on his CV so he's hardly a bad influence.

Honestly why do people keep bringing up Ndidi,
Ndidi himself has said how he didn’t play that role it shows how little you know.

And I said this a while ago; my assumption is the recruitment team had more input this window than they did in the summer. That’s only an assumption like the contrary.

But basically you’re praising him for managing to ‘adapt’ to a mid table manager. What a guy, all hail Lord Davies

I was just looking - in addition to Ndidi they also signed Soumare when they were there as well, who isn't exactly small.

Ndidi didn't play as a box to box midfielder but his role was to be a big athletic midfielder in support of Maddison and Tielemans. They also signed Soumaré for decent money, who plays the physical midfield athlete role.
You now seem to be arguing about how they used the players, not if they had physicality and athleticism - which clearly they did.

People are right. The final quarter of the season is going to make or break him in terms of his stint with us. He’s going to need a couple of statement wins I would think and I’m certain that he will not get away with more than one more stinking performance such as the last two games.

Guess it depends on your levels of leniency. There have been imbalances in the squad, but does that explain us being so bad away from home for so much of the season? Does it explain how poorly we’ve defended set-pieces? I think opinion would be divided.

We’ve only won four games against sides 15th or above and only won one away game against teams 16th or above. They’re pretty underwhelming statistics when measured against Wagner’s optimism and/or expectations. He’s up against it.

Rodgers has had a very good career in British football, but I also think it can be argued his style of football is now dated. That style of football seems to have fell by the way side in recent years (Pep now having a 6ft3+ striker, Shot stopping keeper over a ball playing keeper etc) Most teams having a big mobile striker, concentrating more on set pieces both corners and long throws rather than pounding the rock etc.

I think people are merely counteracting the incessant attacks against the manager, rather than hailing him as a genius, it is quite frankly tiresome, it's thread after thread, day after day, with the same cliches, much of it based on little more than conjecture.

It’s getting to the point where I half want him to go just to shut the moaners up. It’s so tiresome and can tell they’ve got used to us changing manager every 6 months.

Apparently it is, despite the teams tactics and formation appearing almost identical, and the respective managers being tactically rigid and stubborn. Not to mention expecting spending lots on players to suit a formation rather than finding a formation that suits the players...
