Ye also hard to be creative when people are glued to their positions and you only really have a number 9 to aim for in front of you.

Like I keep saying with our front 4 we should cause chaos for oppositions defences but it happens on an occasion or two then we go back to this systematic stay in your position keep trying the same things and eventually something will fall.

Which surprisingly it rarely does because we’re up against much better defenders and managers who already are aware of what’s coming and how to prevent it.

Imagine how much more he could be involved if he had an actual CF to link with who could hold the ball up and do a bit of back to goal type stuff

A Dugarry and Horsfield type partnership

Ducksch and Priske at Norwich looked great. We haven't played it in the last two games.

I don’t understand why he’s played as the deeper forward. Get him leading the line, move Jay out wide and Patrick in the hole.

Believe he was always the deeper of the two forwards in Germany, they played him alongside Oli Burke at 9 and Fullkrug at 9, both of whom scored quite a lot of goals playing in front/next to him.

Ducksch is probably the one part of the team that is working, not sure why you'd want to mess with it to play Roberts out of position at 10 and Stansfield in Gray/Osman's position

He wouldn't work as a 9 in my opinion, he does wince a challenge CB's would win it from him very easily in most 50-50 balls, he would end up still in the pockets he's in now really to receive the ball.

last night we looked week in the central pairing it was clear on paper and become reality once we conceded and lost our motivation for eager press.

Ducksch/Priske should be the pairing going forward.

he doesnt even bother jumping for aerial duels, he knows he cant win a header

his press is half hearted

he's absolutely not an effective CF

he's been a 2nd striker for almost all of his career which at one point got him a call up for the German national team so lets play him in his best position

He’s improved immeasurably since going into the number 10 position. He’s definitely not one to lead the line.

The stick he gets is ridiculous given his output. A large chunk of our fanbase want people running around, kicking people and thumping the badge. The idea of a mercurial, technical player who might shirk a header and do nothing for half an hour before providing a piece of magic is an alien concept.

Remember under Rowett we had 10 cloggers and David Cotterill, and the stick he used to get for not working had enough when he was scoring or assisting most weeks was baffling

I think we struggle a bit physically with Stansfield and Ducksch. Especially if Roberts, Gray and Doyleare playing as well.

We've got to be right on it with the passing because almost every side is bigger than those 5.

Last night you could see we struggled with Boro's press and started to go long. But that was difficult as we lost the long ball in the air every time.

Agreed. Ideally in the summer we will replace Kyogo with someone big and mobile, so we can alternate them with Priske and still have an out ball. Ducksch and Stansfield then can alternate as the starting ten playing off them.

I'm not sure he's worth the game price: yes he scores but we can't win a midfield battle against better teams with him in there.

Bloke can create or score a goal out of nothing.

It's absolute madness to be pointing the finger at him. Literal madness.

It's the old Scott Hogan debate. Yeah, he scores a goal and then you're playing with 10 men. Sometimes worth it, sometimes not.

Certainly worth it when playing against lesser teams.

He doesn't create goals though. You think he does, but he doesn't.

Must have imagined his back heel for Paddy Roberts to score at Swansea.

Good memory you have. And since?

We got battered in Midfield against Millwall and similar against Boro. We aren't good enough to have the luxury of Duck against the better teams.

How about the sublime pass for Stansfield versus Leicester?

How about when teams run through the middle of us every week because there's a huge hole there.

I'm not a massive fan of his general play, but we're 18 points in 10 games.... a lot of those points involving Ducksch.

What should we be doing differently with the personnel we have?
There's too much opinion and not enough fact.

And yet Boro came with a front three that was 6'1, 6'1, and 5'10, and scored three goals (two from the LB) 🤷‍♂️
