C'mon, none of them have particularly big frames, they're all similar in build to most of our players.

I'm not sure he's worth the game price: yes he scores but we can't win a midfield battle against better teams with him in there.

It's absolute madness to be pointing the finger at him. Literal madness.

I totally understand that point of view and he now has 9 goals .

However he is conundrum , often it's like playing with ten men .He wandered around the pitch last night hardly touching the ball , apart from the 2 secs that he got two shots off ,and one ends up in back of the net.

They're all bulkier than our front 4 and use it - Stansfield is the only one of our front four who looks to put himself about and he's bumped off the ball really easily by defenders.

I mean, technically Ducksch has size but he plays like he is a skinny midget.

I don’t understand why he’s played as the deeper forward. Get him leading the line, move Jay out wide and Patrick in the hole.

I understand it , he never wins a header , he's as physical as softy Walter , he is slower than global warming ,he doesn't hold the ball up .

If you play him as a number nine in this league he spends most of his time with his back to the goal , under the close attention of the opposition CH's and they have an easy day .The ball will just keep coming back at us .

You also take away what he is good at , being allowed to find little pockets of space so he can play a killer pass , pick up second balls , delay his runs so he can get shots off , find space for other players to pass to .

Others players need to do his running , we need to find a way to keep him in and around the 18 yard box and facing goal.

I think we struggle a bit physically with Stansfield and Ducksch. Especially if Roberts, Gray and Doyleare playing as well.

We've got to be right on it with the passing because almost every side is bigger than those 5.

Last night you could see we struggled with Boro's press and started to go long. But that was difficult as we lost the long ball in the air every time.

Once we resorted to long balls as it was clear they had stifled our usual way out via the wings (thanks to their wingbacks) we should have brought Priske on to challenge and run channels. Even at 30 mins.

Interesting looking at the stats from FotMob on the game last night.

Boro won 55% of the ground duels and 62% of the aerial duels.

Comparing the front two from each team:

Stansfield - 0/4 ground duels, 0/2 aerial duels
Ducksch - 4/7 ground duels, 1/4 aerial duels

Conway - 3/6 ground duels, 0/1 aerial duels
Strelec - 2/2 ground duels, 4/8 aerial duels

Stansfield did nothing except create the goal last night.

But yes. Ducksch 'only' scores goals. He's 'just' our best goalscorer by a mile. For crying out loud. The one player last night who did something positive and we're debating whether it's worth scoring goals or if it would be better to not bother.

I agree. From our current strikers Ducksch is the first on the team sheet for me.

Nah, I'm not having it that they are bulkier.

Dykes was as big and strong as any of Boros front three. Priske is taller and has a similar frame to all three (judging by multiple social media images), Ducksch is taller, and has a decent frame, even Gray is listed as being a similar height... yet we've had similar problems all season.

The only one, to me, who looks a cut above, in flashes, has been Priske.

And yes, Ducksch has goals, but that's more down to flashes of skill, rather than dominating anyone.

For me, it's either mental, coaching, skill, or a combination... I think this constant moaning about size, pace, height, is all a bit lazy, and covering up for a lack of coaching.

How is that different to Stansfield?

If you can't see the difference between what Stansfield and Ducksch offer to the team , perhaps start watching cricket ?

Even better watch last night's goal back .There is no way Ducksch runs off the defenders shoulder with pace and gets to the touchline .While there is no way Stansfield opens his body up ,and uses the pace of the ball to 'pass' his shot into the corner of the net from that far out .
