At least we don’t have to sign Doyle for 10mil if we don’t go up. Another silver lining.

Would you buy him at say £3m? I wonder if we would buy him if the price was right? I'd say yes to anyting under £3m.

I'd hope we'd spend any midfield money on a back-up to Solis (assuming we keep him too).

Him not being in the team was the biggest disrupter to our play this week .

I said before the january window that any good signings would be undermind if Beadle remained in goal he just makes everyone in the crowd nervous when the ball goes anywhere near him so it must affect the players .The other problem weve got is all the teams we playing know exactly the way we will set up no matter what players Davies picks it doesent change new players same sysyem every game i hope we win saturday but i can see Jones at Charlton doing a job on Davies again we need to be more flexible .

This is quite simply not true.

I feel sad not about the performance or losing cos that's nothing new but our fans booing and the toxicity towards Beadle in particular.
Since when did we become entitled?

I sound sarcastic, but the answer to that ‘since when’ in many cases and in particular the booing morons to which you refer is since they started hanging off every word that Tom Wagner speaks without actually being able to put their own effin brains into gear.

The bloke is fantastic. FEA is brilliant too. What a journey we are on and it’s only going to get better too. I don’t have the words to describe how grateful I am to be honest. But, there are no guarantees on timescales.

They’ve spoken a good game since day one and by god off the pitch they have and continue to deliver. There is progress on the pitch too.

But, they made a catastrophic call that set us back 12 months. There’s also been some (not all obviously) poor recruitment and, whether the club and/or Davies himself is happy with it or not, it’s my opinion that we are woefully short of the required experience around Davies.

My expectations were only ever perhaps top ten this season, because I think we’ve got more issues to sort than others seem to. I base that on what I watch, rather than what the owner says or demands.

The good news is the ship is sailing in the right direction all the time. I think that’s all you can ask.

As for next season, we’ve got the tools to mount a challenge for sure, but we’ve got to improve markedly still. I hear people talking about being top two next season after ten games or else Davies may be gone. Have they not watched Wolves beat Villa and Liverpool within a week? Yes, they’ll lose players, but they’ll still replace with a quality to do serious damage. It’s gonna be bloody hard, again.

Yeah I think he’s a decent player to have as an option, just the 10m mooted fee is huge and could definitely be spent better.

This.

I love the fact that in my 7th decade I can see my team rise up to the top of English football in a stadium that throws a shadow over our neighbours. Given that part of their raison d'etre was in supporting 'the big club' of the area, our supplanting of them is very enjoyable.

But... I didn't start supporting Blues because we were winners. I like the underdog scruffiness of us. This new team in our shiny new stadium will lose something for me. It's a price worth paying, but part of me will always miss the Jeff Hall memorial clock.

The current clock? Or the original scoreboard and clock?
We could always put up a replica of the original at the new ground. Probably have it filled in electronically not by a bloke climbing up a ladder these days,

100% I would - even 4m. He's not a 10 mill player by any stretch and I'm not having those dirty dingles pulling our pants down - but I like Doyle, he's a very good player - I do think we need another Solis type though.

Yeah, he really does looking at that. I rescind my question - not sure being thrown into the cauldron of a KH driven, promotion demanding Blues is going to be good for him.

As you were.

I’d be having a look at Motherwell if KH want to repeat the young coach approach

But tbh I’m convinced Davies will be the man and am fully behind him (insert oh matron gif)
