We've hit a bit of a rough patch after what had been a very decent 2026.

He's bright, articulate and I'm pretty sure is going to have a decent career, either with us or elsewhere.

2 of the 3 defeats have been against 2 of the top 3 .

Wasn't dealt a great hand with the summer recruitment and we have had a huge turnover of players rather than a steady evolution.

Stability and continuity required, otherwise you become a permanent mid table outfit like Watford.

Coventry aren't top of the league because Lanpard has driven a horse and cart through what preceded. Robins was building that squad for years , with good recruitment, large sales and good reinvestment on profit.

The suggestions for replacement belong in the fantasy section of Waterstones

Why are you so sure he's going to have a decent career?.

I'm not sure. You can't be in football.But he has attributes. I think he's decent and has a lot to offer. I did 3 games ago when we were looked very good and top of the form table for the year. 3 games isn't enough for me to change my mind.

I disagree and think the opposite and have done for some time - no hysteria. We don't look like a team that's getting better. We look like a team that buys players who were promising and turns them into pathetic losers.

90% of the time we don't play football that's enjoyable for the supporters to watch because it's so dysfunctional. We try to control possession but look clueless and nervous. We have an expensively assembled squad with many talented players but the sum of their parts is being turned into something less than the total. it should be the opposite.

There's no point building on dysfunction. it's like being in a dysfunctional relationship and saying 'other relationships got better over time so just be patient.' No, just change the manager and the coaching team to a much better group (invest in high quality) and get them playing cohesively over the rest of this season then hit the ground running next season. Put fear into our opponents because of how organised and cohesive we are. Be a proper team for once, not a group of individuals.

That's the difference between us and the teams above us. They play fine football and pump teams more than a couple of times per season.

Thats true.

But its what we do when its not going well that is where the issue is.

As I've said before, when its going well it goes well. Its when we struggle Davies seems to be completely void of ideas to turn a gane around.

I have been one of CD's biggest supporters. Unfortunately i have come to the conclusion that he will not get the club promoted. It always seem we take one step forward and two steps back. He can't get any consistency with team performances.

We need to move on.

Tbf we improved after his subs yesterday, not a difficult thing to achieve considering the low bar and we end up conceding against run of play anyway but we did improve.

Did the bigwigs think they were employing the finished article when they recruited Davies? Bloody daft if so. The man is a beginner, learning on the job. I would hope that they considered that he is a bright young, albeit very experienced coach with the potential to become very good at managing. And thus would need a bit of time and patience.

Not saying that is correct, just what I hope the thought process would be.
