With Gardner gone and obviously being replaced, the new appointment may be the one to ditch the possession style of play in favour of a more direct approach throughout all of our teams. Part of the reason I think Davies is still here is they didn’t want to much change all at once.
We really need to get a body in and announced though as we’re only weeks away from things happening that a DOF is heavily involved in or should be overseeing

I can't see the style changing - certainly open to correction on this but it felt to me like that came from above Gardner.

If CG has got the boot though, his successor should have a big say in identifying and recruiting a new manager. I assume Gardner going would also suggest where blame is sitting for how last season went, so CD gets a chance to show what he can do with a new DoF driving the recruitment.

Ultimately depends who comes in as DoF. If they feel they are a great appointment and they want a different manager to work with then that’ll be that.

A change in CG’s role actually puts even more pressure on Davies to succeed. Like I said before though, you have to give him until December/start of Jan minimum.

I think that first international break at the end of September will be first review time. If CD has us up and around the playoffs (8th or higher), then I think they will review again January, if not then I think he'll be gone.

Half the season moaning about how 'boring' the football is and then having a hard-on for dinosaurball.

It wouldn’t be worse and we’d get better results.

100% yes.

If the board think that Davies is only one bad run from the sack when he had 3 in the same season last year I don’t see any point in keeping him. It’s only worth changing when a manager has the Jan window if there is to be any change.

So my belief is that they must be willing to give CD time.

There is absolutely 0 sense giving him all of pre season and the summer window if he may be sacked 10 games into the season. Would be a mindless approach to things.

I agree with this - if we are carrying on with CD then it must be with the intent that he is manager to at least the end of the season and reviewed then.

Has CG actually left?

This news to me - state your 'sauce' Rab.
I thought it was common knowledge he was going. Has been for a while, even the reasons behind it
Alive. Early starter. Enricher of lives
