I can't decide if this is worrying, or amazing, or both.

Eddie Dalton isn't a real person - this is completely AI generated - and simply brilliant

Yes thanks ... all my physical ailments have been solved by what ended up being complicated surgeries.
Originally it was just going to be one surgery, but that didn't work so others followed straight after.

I'm in pain now from the surgeries etc, but not from the injuries/ailments, so that will pass with time.

Company i work for only allows 12 days sick time in any rolling 12 months, and after that it's the pennies that you get on SSP ... so have used up all my holidays for the year .... but i'll get by

Sounds a better place with a few challenges ahead.

Art is what makes humans human. It should be illegal for AI to produce music.

Spotify now employ a number of “producers” to generate AI music and insert it into their playlists to take even more money away from artists. It’s pretty vile.

Not for me mate. I'm a big believer in art should solely be a human thing

I am not even going to listen to this. AI is based on real human recordings just regurgitated. When everything is regurgitated, there will be nothing new ever. People should just stop listening to this crap.

... eventually we accepted synthesizers and drum machines ... i'm unsure where the future lies

That is totally different. You were still creating stuff, not just asking a computer to regurgitate old things.

I'm not a fan of AI generated music and I am already getting fed up of my Spotify playlists becoming filled with it.

And as someone who posts videos on YouTube, I am pretty against AI generated content in general. I am already seeing AI videos posted about the same travel stuff I post about. My early videos were terrible and I spent years trying to make them better, so it feels wrong that someone can write a few prompts and create something just like that.

To make it worse, I recently had someone accuse a video I shared of me arriving at Tierra Del Fuego my Facebook page of being AI.

I was listening to a creators podcast and they were talking about AI and how it's going to make massive leaps in the next 12 months. They predicted unpresidented levels of unemployment and the end of many skilled jobs as companies can use things like ChatGPT to do anything remotely computer based.

Maybe I'm an outlier but I'm not sure I have a problem with it. People have been using computers to create all forms of art for decades this is just one step further.
Maybe it is because I was so into early acid that didn't really sound like it was made by humans.
I'm also into a lot of soundscape / ambient stuff that again might already be AI generated without me knowing.
Aleksi Perala being a prime example. I've suspected they may be AI or using AI as they are so prolific

What is/isn't art has been defined by the person paying for it for the vast majority of human history. It's only really in the last 100 years or so that the artist has tried to tell us that the process for creating the art is more important than the end result. (which is what ends up with slop like Emin's unmade bed).

Ultimately if people enjoy computer generated music and get an emotional response to it, what is wrong with that?

Hell, I'm of the generation that grew up listening to electronic music that apparently isn't real music because it wasn't made with 'real' instruments - I know mayor likes a lot of that sort of stuff, so it's interesting to see his visceral response to AI.

As someone who is a writer and who has made a living as a creative, the idea of a company scraping huge amounts of data created by people like me to make these large language models is just plain wrong.

Electronic artists have to credit anyone they sample and pay royalties - these people are just stealing stuff lock stock and barrel.
