Never understood the obsession with him in the first place. He did okay in a very short space of time but his record at getting promoted from this league isn’t great and unfortunately I think he’s past his prime.

I was beginning to think it was just me.

The results whilst he was with Blues were OK without being startling and his signings during the January window weren't great.

Obviously he had the benefit in many fans' eyes of not being Rooney but I think his best days as a manager were already behind him by the time he joined us.

It's probably best if he now thinks of himself and his family and enjoys life away from the grind of football management.

the only god thing about him was he had all singing from the same hymn sheet.
Keep right on doubting us, and we’ll keep right on moving forward.

TBF, he took a team that was originally set up to play defensive, counter attacking football, then run down by Rooney and turned it into a team playing exciting possession football with a fairly modest outlay on passing midfielders. And had a 50% win rate.

I don't think we should get him back now but he did really well with us during his short spell and would have been the ideal man to oversee the change in footballing philosophy at the club and overhaul of the squad.

Nobody is signing him up to the three peaks challenge, it's a 5 game job to come in, do a little bit of coaching and get some morale back before the next manager in the summer.

What’s the point though?

5 games, we’re not going up and not going down.

I’m sure they can deal with it for another 4 weeks, rather than dragging a recently unwell retired man 200 miles down the A1.

Fortunately I don't think our owners are in the habit of making totally pointless gestures.

In any event the performance yesterday suggested that, if nothing else, there's no problem with morale.

And from Mowbray's point of view what is there to be gained if the appointment was for only five games and lots to lose if results were poor?

I'm getting the feeling KH don't fancy an interim, Davies is essentially the interim at this point until they get their new man.

Or maybe contrary to popular belief they are not intending to remove Davies or the decision is still under consideration.

Maybe, I doubt it though.

it would be a strange scenario to miss (by a massive margin) all of the key indicator of your performance in a performance and results driven industry and then get asked to stay on.

Bu then again this is Knighthead who bought in a manager who had been a complete disaster in every other management role previously and also bought in an interim manager famed for defensive football when we needed to win matches to remain in the division.

So who knows what they will do? 🤷‍♂️

Despite all of Tom Wagner's hype I doubt any of us know the terms of Davies' contract including the KPI's and the consequences of these not being met.

Obviously results this season have not been what we all wanted but Knighthead may feel that CD can learn and benefit from his experiences and they will give him the opportunity to turn things round.

Unlike many on here I have no idea what the future will bring but I do hope that fans' expectations might become more realistic.
