I think it’s daft to make that Southampton point. A couple of months ago it would have been laughable to describe Southampton in those terms. That Southampton would be no where near a 111 points team.

Southampton’s wage bill will be around 80-90M, bad comparison

Totally agree - the comparison makes little sense. But I do agree that with the money being spent, both the football played and the results produced should be significantly better than we have witnessed this season.

Not sure anyone would argue differently, we’ve all been saying the same for months, revenue is great so long as it’s spent wisely. We also have a Director of Football that doesn’t direct anything and seems to have little accountability.

This summer is crucial. We don't need to rip everything up but we need some key exits and key additions and a clearer process. Perhaps KH need to show a bit of humility in seeding some control.

But still, 111 is a low total when you consider what a Southampton 25/26 team would do in L1 right now.

...nah bud, not really a great comparison that...and 111 is the best anyone has ever done so embrace it (for now it's ours) 😤

Wages to earnings ratio will always be a worry though so food for thought as to how we progress 😤😤

Congratulations on being the 2nd ‘Blues fan’ in a few days on here to rubbish last season.

Who needs rival supporters when we’ve got the likes of some of you lot.

Wage ratio needs to come down. I belive in the PL it's maximum 85% and 75% for UEFA competitions. It's something we need to be working towards now and not wait until it hits us in the face. The new CFO will start to get a grip on it.

These numbers look pretty concerning. Especially given i’d assume wages this season have gone up as well as player spend.

The wage to turnover ratio worries me. That's completely unsustainable and I'm surprised we're being that reckless.

How the hell is our player sales so high? Who did we sell apart from James?

And is the player purchases the amortised figure?

Presumably shifting (paying off) all of those players in Jan will help in that regard. The wages were very bloated with all of those out on loan still being paid a wedge by us.

Do we think Gardner is really acting as a true director of football, based on what were seeing from the outside in? Does he really have the autonomy he should do and is he perhaps too closely tied to KH in decision making. The involvement in transfers, although seemingly exciting, feels also a little strange. The summer gives everyone a chance to reflect and important decisions are to be made based on the outcomes were to see. I cant see large scale changes really but, some may be necessary.
