I doubt that he'd be using the media to pitch for his job to the owners. The discussions reviews, etc will surely already have taken place, and that will be done privately. I'm sure that all at the club will have pretty firm views now.

I would imagine discussions have been had and Davies has had the chance to make a case for the fact that he thinks he can do better next season and how he would propose to do it.

When those discussions took place - they were probably ongoing over a period of time - who knows?

It will come down to whether the decision makers are convinced.
