I wasn't set on him when we were going for him in the Summer. As it stands I'm really glad he isn't here. His stats (although being used as mainly as a sub) are not great and I don't see where he would have fit in all honesty.

A 31 year old on a three year contract for £7m.

He'll be out on loan next season with Ipswich paying most of his wages and will be paid off by them if they manage to stay up.

Dodged a bullet with that one I think!

Does show though that she’s going players of that age with only 1 or 2 good seasons in their career can be very expensive mistakes. And getting rid of them won’t be easy

At least it breaks up the vague links to players solely on the basis we were vaguely linked to them a year ago.
