Wasn’t as good as hoped or hyped

Not quite as disappointing as Ryan Woods but getting there

Luckily, he's in a very small minority of Blues fans who can't appreciate a footballer when they see one.
Good player, but we need better.

Most disappointing signing of the season for me. Slow, weak, dreadful set piece delivery, turning circle of the Queen Anne.

Has a eye for a decent pass but nowhere near good enough for us if we want to improve next season

Agreed.

Bizarre take this is

His stats are very good considering he didn't play consistently
High on assists
High on passes completed (and by far our best passer IMO)
High on chances created
High on successful dribbles

His set pieces are also good

We wasn't getting a big box-to-box midfielder. We were getting a ball playing midfielder who needed better movement in front of him and midfielders who could protect him. For the most part we had neither but his ability was evident when we played Roberts in the same team

“High on assists”

Got 3 assists, all from set pieces, nothing from open play

I thought he was a good player but just didn't have what we lacked in the team. Decent eye for a pass and good set pieces but not enough running and not physical enough to play in a 2 man midfield like we do. Also the kind of midfielder he is not the flavour of the month at the moment in football

If he had settled in well and was performing well every game he played he would have been picked to play more ‘ but he didn’t he was inconsistent we need better and he wasn’t it

No assists from open play all season, only three assists total in 38 appearances, despite playing most of those in the first half of the season when, as you say, he had Roberts in front of him.

Needs someone who can run and tackle beside him to even look remotely like he belongs in a high end Championship team because he's too slow and too weak to do it himself.

I'd call him a luxury player but his stats aren't good enough to be called a luxury. He's a middling Championship centre midfielder that's too slow, too weak and too inconsistent to be more than that.

Technically good but not technically good enough to offset his lack of athleticism, particularly when we were also looking to fit also very unathletic Ducksch into the team.

He’d have been great doing the Gleeson role in Rowett’s team, sat deep with a keef / davis alongside him doing his running and tackling, and a back 4 right behind him ensuring his lack of physicality doesn’t get exposed

He was a victim of Davies coming into the season with the intention of playing the same way as we did in League 1

The strategy of signing the likes of Doyle, Ducksch, Fujimoto, Kyogo etc looks flawed in hindsight

Won't even make it wiv the dog edz, i wouldn't be shocked to see him in a Lincoln shirt next season, If he can adapt a Barry bxxan role he will be OK, but with age his just going to get worse and slower.
Keep right on doubting us, and we’ll keep right on moving forward.

Lets not go overboard, he's a good footballer and would be fine in a midfield 3, he'll get a good move if he doesn't play for Wolves, was just ill suited to our system for the most part as it exposed his lack of athleticism.

I thought it was a top signing and the rumoured 10m would be well worth it. Just hasn't worked out unfortunately. I think he'll be a top player for wolves next season.

Mensa level IQ (wouldn’t usually offer but context relevant) work in finance with a 7 figure salary. I sit on multiple boards and have startups with VC interest. Regular fan is unlikely.

Having an opinion different to you doesn’t make me stupid. 3 assists and no goals in 40 games from a player who can only attack is shit output.

I didn’t say he’s a terrible player. Could be decent elsewhere. I said he was a steaming pile of shite this season for us.
