Why hasnt he been sacked yet?

So it would appear they’re backing him and will appeal any ban.

They are indeed. Southampton have shown no remorse over this whole debacle other than to be sorry for getting caught. If this was Blues I'd be furious with the club and embarrassed by them. I feel for the fans but but by standing by those responsible I hope the club suffers long term from this.

Yeah, throwing the manager under the bus would have allowed them to say that’s as high as it went and ‘the club’ knew nothing about it.

This suggests they’re condoning it, ( or even knew about it) and I feel they’re setting themselves up for more trouble..

Embarrassing for their supporters.

This is what you get when you hire someone called Lord Pannick to represent you.

He is certainly an 'interesting' one.

Done some very good stuff, and also defended some very very dodgy things.

That is the law though. Clients are taken on and you try to get the best outcome for them. Even murderers will have legal supprt.

They really don’t seem to know when it’s time to wind their collective necks in do they?
I said, prior to the punishment, that whilst I feel for the fans, I hope that, based on some of the odious individuals at the club, that they got a severe sanction.
I think even I underestimated the level of odiousness

You have to think that the top bosses knew everything and Eckert will expose that if he's sacked.

It's another PR disaster for them now to not act - even if the FA get involved and ban him.

Have they no shame? Owner doesn't seem to have any perception of the ongoing reputational damage this will cost club and away games will be highly charged to say the least. The stick they can expect to receive beyond the norm with same manager on the touchline. The players happy with that?

Lastly, clearly he has no concern either about how junior staff were treated, so duty of care whilst in his employ irrelevant. What an odious individual.

Must admit I thought they might be waiting for the EFL/FA to ban Eckert, saving them a pay off, but that does sound like they back him on this.

The FA should ban him for 12 months as the club have said they back him - disgraceful- clearly he has told them if he goes they all go - when I see a picture of him I always think - I wouldn’t accept a lift off him 😳

The owners care more about having a Premier League team than having a good reputation. I wonder how sponsors for the coming season will see that.

The ideal scenario after all this, is that Southampton have a terrible start to the season and have to sack him in December anyway.
