Agreed, he needs to play somewhere where he enjoys it

Can’t see West Ham having him back

Hope he finds a happy place, seems like a nice lad

He was poor when he played for England.

This is categorically not true. He was integral to the team in the Euro 2020(2021) run.

He was very good for England - he was brilliant for Leeds. It's a massive drop off and he was easily good enough for Man City on those performances.

The move to Man City killed his career, he was a very good player and did really well for England and Leeds. But he was never Man City level. They had Rodri, Gundogan, Bernardo and de Bruyne ahead of him. All were comfortably better than him

Its certainly a strange one. Almost like once Pep got a look at him in training realised....no, he hasn't got enough for my team. It would then follow Phillips confidence nose dived, and has never been same since.

I remember after an injury lay off he came back really chunky, I thought that was a big red flag that maybe the desire had gone a bit.

He was poor when he played for England. I think it shows how good a manager Bielsa is and how he gets his players to fitness levels that other managers cannot.

That’s totally untrue. He was, albeit for a short period of time, fantastic for England.

Reckon we could make an 11 of English players who fell off in their peak age?

This is what I get for not reading both pages. Phil Foden could be on the list soon the way he's going tbf
