Is speakman the answer ?

Not sure how much Sunderland’s promotion was down to him or the appointment of Le bris and Le fee.

The high quality finance and infrastructure appointments should be replicated in the footballing operations department .

I mean people will disagree that he ended things on his own terms.
People think he’s had no choice in being got rid of

Can’t say I’m particularly knowledgeable about Speakman’s role at Sunderland but I think he was pretty much In a similar role to Gardner?

If that’s the case wouldn’t he have been a key factor In bringing Le Bris and Le Fee to Sunderland?

Also, Is this talk of Speakman coming back here just people putting 2+2 together or Is there something In It?

His choice to resign or been sacked?
He sacked blues off put his notice in about 3 weeks ago i heard its was probably simmering in the background for a while and the politics that come with a role like that day to day is a pain in the arse no doubt...hes done well though for a local lad fair play.

i think you're touched in the head if that's what you think has happened.

So to someone like me who hasn't got a clue what has gone on, could you elaborate so I am not in the dark, pretty please with sugar on top?

Is it only me who saw the appointment of Rigg at the time as a sleeper to replace Craigy at some point?

He’s been Director of Football or equivalent at a number of clubs, including Citeh.

Three months?

That's pretty optimistic TBF.

I'd give it 6 weeks, less if it's somebody people arbitrarily decide they don't like before he's even started.

If it's going to happen, surely a new sporting director needs the whole summer.

I think you’d need to give them at least 12 months to see changes filter through properly

Eddie Howe said you can't see the true success of a sporting director for about 4 or 5 years.
Which makes it all the more surprising that Knighthead didn’t prioritise better in that role as soon as they got the deal done to buy us

That's only true if you assume KH knew what they were doing in terms of running the sporting side of a Championship football club effectively on day 1.

Some of their decisions at that time suggest that perhaps they didnt...
