The very same. Brownie said he could always tell if a player ‘had it’ after watching him for 10 minutes; and De Ridder had it. I think he played about 10 minutes for us after he said it.

Tbf, I think De Ridder had a very promising debut against Wigan (?) and just never seemed to do anything again after that. Was a very weird season that, seemed Kapo started well and fell off a cliff and didn’t Palacios start well too then his brother got kidnapped or something? I could be misremembering.

I'd be wary about buying players from the eredivisie. They only play 34 league games per season and the Champioship physicality is a big step up.

It is like buying from Scotland as well. Some very good players but the nature of the league does mean some players who aren't at all suited to English football can look very good.
