Will be sad to see Sir Winston no longer on the bank notes.

Animals over people (especially politicians) any day of the week 👍
100%

Meanwhile over the pond they are putting Trump's face on their new $250 bill and his signature on the $100 bill

Trying to.

There is a law against living people being on bank notes in America,

I've thought of a way that issue can be solved.
There's too much opinion and not enough fact.

I'm just not sure on it being just animals. I'd consider things like Monuments or landscapes. You could have things like Stonehenge, Big Ben, Giants Causeway etc.

I look forward to the 2032 issue Powerhouse Stadium £50 note

Always surprised Sir Bomber Harris or Bernard Montgomery weren't on the notes. Hereos.

I am more than happy to get rid of people. I'm not entirely sure why they were ever put on the notes. Especially political figures who are always going to hated by one side.

It needs to find a balance of being patriotic without being seen as right wing fascist or left wing woke. Very difficult rope to walk.

I would also be fine with landmarks though I could see that descending into a London bias argument or people just moaning that their local village hall from [rural backwater] has been overlooked.

Nobody worth listening to hates animals.

Regional notes would be an interesting concept. I'm not sure why all £5 should have the same design.

Ease of production, but probably more importantly instilling commonality for the handlers to be able to tell a forgery.

Lots of designs means a higher chance that forgeries go unnoticed.

Doesn't seem an issue for the euro or the multitude of british coins designs in circulation.

Coins are harder to strike than a note is to copy and you’d likely spend more in coin forgery than they’re worth.

Animals will be nice but this is 100% a way to just get rid of people like Churchill, regardless of how it's framed.

It isn’t - they had a vote which included historical figures, people who voted, voted for nature.

Yep. I, for one, very much look forward to the day Trump's face can legally be on a bank note

We have local heritage sites on the back of our notes but I recommend you have a Shag.

You may not like the man, in fact you may hate him and his policies (I have no love for either), but seeing a pair of "Mods" openly hoping for the death of the duly elected president of a longstanding ally reflects very poorly on both the site and you as individuals. One can only imagine the reaction from those same "Mods" if an American made posts openly hoping for the death of Starmer on this forum, and rightly so.

"Mods" in quotes as that type of behavior isn't worthy of people who supposedly police others and uphold standards.
