It's 2 x off-hand, tongue in cheek comments on a message board, and your response is a bit snowflakey.

I apologise that you don't deem me 'worthy', I'm not sure how I'll cope.

Of course they were tongue in cheek, I was just waiting for the "I was only joking" when people like you are called out on your double standards. Pathetically predictable.

So are you the arbiter of what is and isn't tongue in cheek? I'll be sure to check with you every time I post from now on to be sure my intent and what is worthy can be checked.

Alternatively, you could carry on making your assumptions and getting offended, the choice is yours really. Please, do let me know which!

I'll go with option (c) which is spend my time where the stench of hypocrisy isn't as bad as it is here.

Or to put it another way: go fcuk yourself and your faux intellectual sneering drivel.

Imagine having the complete lack of irony to complain about offense, then telling someone to ''go fcuk yourself and your faux intellectual sneering drivel.''

it's delicious!

I agree with you on Heaton Rab.
Bagged tickets for the NIA in November. £39.50 a ticket is as cheap as you’ll get for an arena tour. £7.45 booking fee each ticket though is shameful. And a £3 transaction fee on top

£50 with fees all in for an arena gig, is below what's standard nowadays I'd say. Value for money to see someone you love.

This isn’t an airport, you don’t need to announce your departure.

Just said near enough similar on the phone to my mate who’s coming with us. Average ticket now for an arena gig has to be double that I’d have thought. And tbf to Heaton he says keeping prices low is important to him, but he can still do alright himself and pay the band well too.

I've thought of a way that issue can be solved.

Yep. I, for one, very much look forward to the day Trump's face can legally be on a bank note

You may not like the man, in fact you may hate him and his policies (I have no love for either), but seeing a pair of "Mods" openly hoping for the death of the duly elected president of a longstanding ally reflects very poorly on both the site and you as individuals. One can only imagine the reaction from those same "Mods" if an American made posts openly hoping for the death of Starmer on this forum, and rightly so.

"Mods" in quotes as that type of behavior isn't worthy of people who supposedly police others and uphold standards.

I nearly made a similar statement in the original post Ian was replying to.

And I guarantee, I'm not joking. The sooner he's gone the better.

Good Lord.

Not sure why they are bothering tbf. Only 9% of transactions in the UK involve cash these days.

Don’t think I’ve used cash for an actual transaction in the UK since before Covid, though I don’t think it should be done away with just yet.

It doesn't need to be 'done away with'. It will just 'run off' naturally as the old 'uns pass on.

People are getting more aware that any business that won't accept cards is, at best, on the tax fiddle and more than likely a front for organised crime so they steer clear.

Most people have all their cards on their phone these days. Like Tandy, other than 2nd hand purchases off Marketplace I don't think I've used cash since before Covid. It used to be car parks but they can either be 'plipped' with your phone or pay on the app these days. Cash has gone the same was as VHS videos and hard copy newspapers - people just moved on to something more convenient.

I think cash us more resilient than that. I went to a lecture the other week about the use of cash in France so I looked up the article the lecturer wrote Les Français et le cash : quels sont leurs usages au quotidien ? - 13/12/2024 à 12:05 - AMP Boursorama [share.google]

In there you'll find the figures that the average person carries 55€ of cash, and that figure rises to 64€ for those aged between 18 and 34. Seems a lot to me (that said I've got 70€ in my wallet now, and a few coins - I've just been to the cash point). Cash is declining very slowly and the uptake of POS electronic transfers (phones etc) is coming at the expense of cheques (especially) and bank cards.
