I would expect him to be raw given how little football he actually has played. That he is scoring and creating and dribbling while so raw is quite exciting, as he should get even better as he refines.

Though it's a lot for an unrefined player.

Agree. My boss's final comment was "Hopefully you overpay for him".

I've never seen him play to be honest so can't comment. I think the £5 million for Solis will be a steal

I’m curious, am I being thick or am I missing something with the below comment;

‘ It’s only right that I correct the record and say I’ve been told that defender is no longer coming in, and thus ends my very short ITK arc’

Was this in addition to the fry signing?

Yeah, I'd heard we were signing another CB shortly after Fry was signed and got a bit excited. Turns out that move likely isn't happening now.

I thought the price for Solis was excellent. Cleary at £5m would be expensive but exciting

We've spent a similar amount on Solis and I'd say he's pretty raw.

Solis is raw but was playing in La Liga, Cleary is raw and playing in League 1

Ideally you'd take the risk on a smaller fee but it isn't my money and I trust the club to identify the talent and offer what they think he's worth

£5m for raw is a big risk. We spent £1m on raw a while back on Leko.

But as you say £5m is not a great deal of money in this day and age.

I wouldn't be against it to be honest.
We could’ve got him for 20k I reckon when I mentioned him over 2 years back. For that reason I’d move on to other targets. We’ve seen before how spending too much on players is a reason for them to get stick off some. Could’ve had Marc Roberts for 50k under DvB Rowett then signed him later for £2.5/3m. Jota. Harlee Dean. Sunjic are others who people expected more because of the transfer fee

Good player, would have liked him but not completely heartbroken we didn't get him, is how I'd categorise it.

Also played a much higher level in La Liga and proved himself in the championship second half of the season.

The Cleary one is interesting, for me if we do get him in firstly I think it rules out Osman coming back. Unless Gray was to go. I wouldn't have an issue if the two LW next season was an experienced Gray and a young one adjusting to the level in Cleary
