Wonder why we've not been offered or asked for more tickets?? We sold it out pretty comfortably (apart from a couple of wheelchair seats still available) so you would think there would be more demand as it's the first away game of the season for us and judging by people on Facebook etc asking for spares.

Maybe Swansea are expecting extremely low numbers and simply don't want the away end bigger than the home end??

It'll likely down to the additional costs to open up past the initial allocation. Given tickets are priced as £15 for adults I'm not sure there's much to be gained from them once you factor in extra staffing, policing costs etc.

they could have given us the max fa cup allocation of 3,100 which the ground is set up for, they are only opening 2 home stands so probably didnt appreciate the demand from away fans for a r1 league cup game or more likely couldn't be bothered to change the set up for an extra 1k tickets at £15

Any idea what the original allocation was? The away fans are entitled to 15% of the ground capacity which on 21000 capacity, as previously stated is approx 3100.

That rule applies for FA Cup, not League Cup

I did like the ticket email from the club.
It was simply the original purchase email which states this is not your ticket, the ticket will be sent separately, but with a PDF ticket attached..
On my personal emails it's not obvious that there is an attachment so I was waiting for another email.

This has baffled me somewhat. It has been mentioned the allocation for the League Cup is 10% of which would be around the 2100 that fits into the normal away areas. I am really surprised that we haven’t offered more tickets in the North West Corner, we can fit roughly an extra 600 in that corner. I was expecting an announcement saying that you had been allocated more tickets. The maximum that can be allocated is roughly 3,400 when the whole of the north stand is allocated at the 15% for FA cup games.

I think we have been told to only allocate roughly 2,000 because Cardiff City are also playing at home on Saturday against Swindon. I think the police may have requested that they have an away allocation figure in advance so they can divide up the police needed for each match. This is me totally guessing because I really thought we would give you more. We haven’t sold that many at the moment. We have practically sold out Stoke away roughly 3,200. At a guess I would say only around 10,000 in total (including Brum) on Saturday?

600 fans is only £7,500 after VAT at most. By the time you've paid for the stewards an police it's barely worth it to the club. The worst for this was Swindon a couple of years ago. They had more than half the ground shut for a Vertu game, but refused us more than 1,400 tickets.

Personally I think football needs crowds. I'd like as many as possible at every game. If the home side isn't selling out they should welcome more away fans. I'm sure our extra fans would not have been a nuisance.

We've had some good games at the Liberty (or whatever it is called). There was a 3-3 where we conceded very late and a 3-4 where we won deep into injury time. I am looking forward to Saturday.
