I mean, I don’t particularly rate any of our current keepers for a prem challenging side.

Our 3rd choice is that Mayo guy. Is it so difficult to believe we have our eye on another.

In any event, this thread is about a medical.

I’m waiting for El Major to correct me on this…

No idea who the keeper is (I never said pope) not saying it isn’t, I simply don’t know.

Or maybe one of the keepers is identifying as woman this year and is going to help the girls in the premier league. We’d need a new keeper in that case.

Thats probably the most likely reason thinking about it.

If there is a medical then Gelhardt would be amazing or even a central midfielder

If Mayo isn’t ‘trusted’ (in the nicest sense), then another keeper to challenge for the bench spot, and ensure a decent keeper on the bench in all scenarios, does make sense really.

I like Allsopp, I think he’s a solid all round keeper with crazy passing skills, so I can’t see any sense replacing him.

We can narrow it down to the 130,000 professional footballers around the world

Hes out for another month aint he. Would he even pass a medical currently?

Yes.
Medicals just check the issues a player has - the club then decides what course of action to take on it. It isn't a pass/ fail.

A decent 3rd choice is a bit of a luxury at this level though.

Though maybe Beadle or Alsopp have picked up an injury?

I would say its that french midfielder if i had to guess.

Also your bang on with Si cooper, i could go on x and say there will be a medical next week and good chance there will be.

Yeah people misunderstand the purpose of a medical. You dont really pass/fail one, its just a factor in whether the club proceed with the transfer.

I imagine if we are in for a keeper, something has come up we cant turn down?

Or something has happened with one our keepers, injury or someone has come in for someone

Only other option is if Mayo's now too old to count as under 31 for the squad, so would take up a place - but that would presumably mean getting an under 21 keeper in on a perm? Still doesn't feel that likely.

Or maybe Davies has woken up and realised Beadle is terrible ?

And therefore we still need a no 1 keeper

They wouldn't have bothered with the loan if that was the case.
