Blues fan here of 30+ years and i just wanted to come on and say a massive thanks to Rab C Nesbit on here for his kindness the other night.

I came to the Barca game with my 78 year old dad, he was there last time we played them in 1960 (0-0 and it pissed down all game apparently!). Our season tickets are over in the Kop usually, i live abroad so i go whenever i’m back but there’s 10 of us who all share them depending on who can go each week. As everyone wanted to go we had to get a few extras so me and my dad ended up in the Tilton lower. My Dad has not long had a knee replacement and walks with a stick and our mate had accidentally stitched us up by buying the extra tickets in safe standing.

As we were struggling to get down the stairs Rab (totally unprompted) came over asked if we were heading down to safe standing and kindly offered for him and his lad to swap seats with us so my old man didn’t have to stand up all game. His seats are right at the front of upper with loads of leg room so it was perfect for my dad. It was honestly one of the kindest things i’ve seen in a very long time! I tried to give him some cash for a few beers to say thanks and he wouldn’t take it. So i just wanted to come on and say thanks again, he saved my dad from a really painful couple of hours. You’re an absolute gent Rab! KRO

Cheers,

Jim

Well done Rab.

One question - How did you lnow it was Rab?

Does he have his name on the back of his shirt?
[hope not] does he actually look like Rab C Nesbitt?
Did he introduce himself ?

Love this. This is the type of Blues fan - and genuine decent person- that we should all be about... great awareness from Rab C Nesbitt :)

No worries pal. I did put a thread up on Saturday wondering if you’d read it.
Never mind thanking me, thank you for offering me and the lad a beer or two but I couldn’t take your cash. Appreciate it though and good to speak and glad you both had a good night.
It was only by chance we were in those seats.,Our ST are in safe standing butchers been bought by the time online sales were working, but it worked well for your Dad.

I don't know him but I know he likes a drink so there is a chance we might have passed each other in a pub. Although I tend to drink in town and the nearest pub to the ground I go in is the Spotted Dog on the odd occasion after a game (also the Anchor since it re-opened).

Rab is a diamond.

Anyone who's met him will testify to this.
