If anything is going to cost us this season, it's the GK positions IMO. The last time we made it to the play offs, our sub par keeper cost us. I'm not happy with either of our GK options. I'll get behind them both, and I hope I'm wrong, but we look so weak in that department.

I don’t agree with your opinion, we will see who is right. I don’t think Beadle particularly ‘cost us’ last year, compared to other factors, and don’t see why it should this year.

He was not the right goalkeeper last year and in my opinion not right this season. He is young and will develop over years, but if you are going for it you do better than this. CD has made his bed and must now lye in it and we will see if he is right.

Beadle is top class already. He will make mistakes as all goalies do. All players do. In years to come we will look back and consider ourselves privileged

Chris Davies, I'm fairly sure, will also take advice from those who specialise in goalkeeper coaching when deciding on our best option.

Beadle is a very good goalkeeper.

Yes, he could improve his distribution (you can see he is continuing to work on it) but his shot stopping is excellent. He seems to deal with pressure well and must be quite robust mentally because he wasn't sunk by the idiots abusing him last season. I admire him for coming back for more (Friday night was bloody ridiculous).

He is very highly thought of in the game by those that know and if we can help improve and get him on a perm in the future, he will become a very valuable asset.

Vitek is going for £14m apparently, if thats the going rate for a decent prem loan keeper as seems so, please, if able, put forward a viable, affordable alternative.

PR FC strikes again. Signing him on loan with no option to buy is a poor deal for the club.

We are developing someone else’s keeper for 2 years for no benefit of our own.

Beadle is fine. I hope he improves this season. He has potential for sure but he needs to have a “coming of age” season in the next couple of years to really determine how far he may go in the game.

I don’t have any ill feeling towards Beadle. I just think given he’s embarking on his 4th season in the championship and needs to be judged with that in mind - he is not a rookie.

Sorry I don’t agree with this. I think he’s an ok Championship goalkeeper. He needs to come on leaps and bounds to become a premier league level keeper.

He’s still young and could definitely develop and become great. But, right now - even showing to be a top championship keeper would be his best season to date.

Also “highly rated at Brighton”. Really? He was behind Rushworth, McGill, Steele and Verbruggen.

At best he has become 5th choice keeper and has not managed to get himself into contention.

A 4 year deal from Brighton is amortisation of wages, ensuring if they sell him in the next couple of years they have some bargaining tool for fee. If he does develop a lot in the next couple of years he is still contracted.

They will have seen the money they’ve made from Rushworth and decided a contract extension is basically risk free for them.

Consensus from Brighton fans is that he looked great at 18 but hasn’t really developed from there. It’s on their forums, it’s on twitter. I’m not sure where anyone is forming an opinion that he’s highly rated by Brighton.

James Trafford is a “top class goalkeeper” - compare him with Beadle. Miles apart.

Beadle is fine. He is a good goalkeeper with lots of potential if we want to compete with the promotion places than unfortunately that isn’t good enough he was statistically a bottom half goalkeeper for most of last season and to accommodate strengths, you weaken yourself.

However If his signing has paved the way financially for bringing in someone like Gelhardt as Davies was alluding to earlier in the pre season then i’m all for it.
