Err no

My sons a keeper been in and around academies

Beadles technically is v poor. His scoop save and general handling is so bad

Yes he is 6’7 and did improve…

He has a massive ceiling but has be so bad last couple of seasons

I hope he improves quickly but don’t see it

I’m going to go ahead and assume you probably don’t know who Pimo’s son is and why he might have a decent insight.

My lad is similar, plays at quite a high level in and around Accademy standard.

We wince at Beadle and his technique regularly.

I’m going to give him a clean slate and see how he starts the season I hope he can prove us wrong and CD right.

Yet Pimo doesn’t, presumably with his lad?

Can’t agree his shot stopping is phenomenal. He lets too many in for that to be the case. Southampton away, QPR away, Derby away?

That’s kind of the point - he got far better throughout the second half of the season apart from the one goal against Derby. It’s really the only one that’s a big error. You could also argue Preston home and maybe the Cov first goal. But that’s 3 in half a season compared to 2 in a month in the first half of the season.
But that’s my point and only point on him on here. He’s not a phenomenal shot stopper. Otherwise he wouldn’t have conceded 5 plus in a season he should have saved. Or have got dropped by Sheffield Wednesday the season before we had him. He’s big. Makes some decent saves. More than Allsop. Catches more crosses than Allsop but isn’t totally commanding and is average with his feet. He’s here. I won’t slate him. Especially at games. But he’s not a phenomenal shot stopper as Friday showed

I played in academy football when I was a kid. I was shit tbh. I could just run a lot and sort of kick a ball.

Didn't make me an expert at judging professional footballers.

Hey I ain’t saying I’m the govner cos my kids a good keeper.
And Pimo’s appraisal is obviously more qualified than mine.
But it’s just our opinion on Beadle.
You obviously think he’s a great keeper and I hope your right.

I never said I think Beadle is great. I just think he's fine, we'll see how he gets on and hope for the best.

I would definitely trust Pimo's opinion on goalies on here more than most 👍🏻

I said he had phenomenal shot stopping ability. Feel like that's an important caveat.

Friday was nothing to do with shot stopping, merely his handling. Which is his weakest attribute. He palms way too much and into bad areas. But his ability to make saves other keepers simply can't is what will define his ceiling. If he tidies up the weaknesses he will be elite because he just has the ability to make unbelievable saves

Friday was a shot he didn’t stop as he should’ve.
Palming shots into dangerous areas isn’t phenomenal shot stopping ability.
I think you’re massively over egging his ability. That’s why he’s here again on loan rather than at a top flight club in Europe on loan or at Leeds instead of Trafford.
But hope he keeps 46 clean sheets in the league this season

PR FC strikes again. Signing him on loan with no option to buy is a poor deal for the club.

We are developing someone else’s keeper for 2 years for no benefit of our own.

Beadle is fine. I hope he improves this season. He has potential for sure but he needs to have a “coming of age” season in the next couple of years to really determine how far he may go in the game.

I don’t have any ill feeling towards Beadle. I just think given he’s embarking on his 4th season in the championship and needs to be judged with that in mind - he is not a rookie.

We are loaning a goalkeeper because its a position that nearly all promoted clubs need to buy for a prem season anyway.

So we could go and buy a goalkeeper now that would be expensive and take funds out that could be spent elsewhere and likely still need to sign another goalkeeper next season if we were promoted, or we loan one rated higher than what we could bring permanently so we can use money in other areas.

My opinion is that in the championship you go big on your attackers and then if you get promoted and the aim is to stay in the league, that's when you go big spend on goalkeeper and defence.

Let's be honest ... he's only keeping the shirt warm for Alfie Smith

How old is he now 16?
