This rings true to me, the Swansea and Norwich goals away last year were as close to.unstoppable as you can get and he was about an inch from saving them.

Though that doesn't account for how he improved during the season - Bagel posted that he was one of the top shot stoppers during the run in.

People honestly don't realise how highly rated Beads is in the game. Internationally and the big clubs all think he will be top top.

Does that mean he is top top now? No. Because he is learning. But from someone who has seen him up close around other pros, trust me, he has the ability to be a complete joke! His raw ability is unreal and put that with his frame - wow.

Put it this way, i think Beads is top and I wouldnt want us to sign him permanently as if he had 4 or 5 more years here he would most certainly prove to be a major block to Alf as Beads will just continue to get better.

I think he will finish the season with many of you saying - yeah, ok, he's top. Lets wait and see.

TBF, it would probably work well - I'd guess at that point we'd probably lose Beadle to one of the biggest clubs if he does keep developing as he did last season. Perfectly timed for you lad to step in?

You'd have to go out on loan at 17, 18, 19, 20 to get minutes or else you get to 21 with no minutes and nobody wants to play you. So in principal - maybe. I guess it depends at what age you aim to break in.

I think you need to be playing league football at 19 at least - if you're top top.

Yeah, I think over the last 10 games he was at 3.4 'goals prevented', which is to say he saved 3 goals more than expected over 10 games, which is top 3-5 in the league if he keeps it up.

He was negative on goals prevented at first but it slowly picked up over the season, after Christmas he was around the same level as Vitek from what I remember.

I think the issue with Beadle is that he makes basic errors sometimes, but he also gets to things other keepers just don't. It's like the reverse of why Pickford is overrated - you don't even notice that Pickford doesn't save shots other keepers do because they look like great finishes, but a taller keeper would get to them.

Beadle's shot stopping ability is absolutely phenomenal, you can see in bursts why people think we will be top tier, but he makes more basic errors that are obvious and frustrating.

That’s kind of the point - he got far better throughout the second half of the season apart from the one goal against Derby. It’s really the only one that’s a big error. You could also argue Preston home and maybe the Cov first goal. But that’s 3 in half a season compared to 2 in a month in the first half of the season.

Well, people have said on here he’s not at a decent level, in fact he’s poor. Also, that he’s not well regarded in the professional game/England set up - then Pimo who has some genuine insight into this says the exact opposite is true.

You are keen on the eye test. The eye test to me was that he looked much better and more commanding at the end of the season than the beginning. He was slow getting down at time and looked nervous. I think he was far more commanding at the tail end and improved a lot in those areas. He reflected the state of the team, young players maybe do more so than others.

Some who are sceptical are at least prepared to see how it goes. It does seem others have their minds made up. Guess it won’t be long till we see how it goes.

I'm hoping we'll be where Brighton are by the time Alfie is Beadle's age, so would assume the club will be loaning him out for a couple of seasons to get experience.
Though Donnarumma did show some keepers develop far faster!
