Just stumbled upon this sad news.
A post on Twitter from his son confirming he passed yesterday on his 61st birthday after a short illness.
Feel really sorry for his son.
Anyone who attends games regularly will recognise him. Definitely Platty Plus he was.

Guaranteed to see him every away game and he travelled some miles from Sussex , always a pleasure to speak with and was a lovely bloke who loved the club. Such a shame condolences to his family.

Yes he was, there really are some nasty people about.

I always enjoyed his twitter posts on home and away days.

It is some dedication and commitment to put that much time and miles into following us especially when we were very shit (pre Knighthead).

It is especially sad he was only 61 and won't get to see the fruits of his support in seeing us play at the new stadium or even back in the Prem.

If I remember correctly, he used to post each game home and away a picture on his way to the game stating how many miles he was travelling something like that?
