To get a point after the sucker punch goal I am happy with.

Playing like the old days of Kieftenbeld and Davis and barely able to get a hold of the second ball is disappointing.

Rob Tanner would love it though

Feel like I watched a different game. Thought we were great on the ball, very effective overall, and aside from some shoddy finishing we'd have won the game against a very good team.

Not sure exactly what you mean Rab. We did have the ball a lot more in the past but for most of the time is was pretty tepid stuff with no threat. At least we moved more quickly and offered a threat when we did have it - as you say, we should have won really and that against a side people were praising before the game (rather over praising in my view).

Ps not ‘fantastic’ though.

I think great on the ball is way off. Very sloppy at times. I’ve admitted we should have won the game but we conceded possession far too easily at times and will get punished in games for it if we continue to give the ball away.
We can beat any team in this league. And by playing better football than for a lot of tonight’s game. We are a match for way better than Southampton

Fair enough. I wouldn't say we were that sloppy though. I just think we're trying to play it forward more incisively, which naturally leads to giving it away a bit more. Southampton were similar.

Anyway, was a good evening, up the blues.

Thought the first half was the best we have played this season. Vicente is a bit of a mystery. He’s like a reverse Spanish player, his first touch is often rather loose. I agree about taking teams on and being a match for them. It’ll be interesting to see how it goes on Sat as Wolves got tonked tonight.

Southampton are a very good team with a very good manager. They have pace all over the pitch , good technical players , break quickly and look PL in the transgression .

They'll be in the playoffs very close to the automatics ( if not in them) even with points deduction imo.

We could have beaten them tonight if we had taken our early chances .

We played really well tonight and a draw was a fair result in end over 90 mins .

Don’t think a draw was fair, what with the stansfield, solis and Roberts chances.
Still think Iwata is a weak link, crowd getting on his back a little as he will not go forward.
Feel lots more positive after that

I think we've got the potential to improve as well, with Millar and Bird to come in.
Signed 7 players in this window and I think the squad is stronger.
