Listen, the recruitment team needs improvement and we need a DoF to over see everything but the club have found little known talents like Klarer, Neumann, Wagner, Solis, Priske etc. who we could make big profits on right now.

That would carry more weight if the manager hadn't specifically said we were holding most of our money for attacking positions we didn't end up filling.

"There weren't the players available." There are always players available; you need the people skilled in finding them.

2/3rds of other clubs will argue we have got an endless pot of money. We generate double the revenue lots of clubs do in this league. We aren’t paupers anymore

What I would say is that recruitment is about building connections, all those players were initially recruited under CG watch as DoF. He had those connections.

Pet hate of mine and no offence to you because it's the norm to say things like "Need to finish our chances" "If only we could finish" etc.

The average conversion rate in the championship so far this season is 8.1%, we're currently on 8.1%. We've only got to improve slightly to make a massive improvement.

Last season our conversion rate was 6.6% with the average being 7.5%. Only 1 team had a rate better than 10% or 1 in 10, Hull. How mad is it to think that the most clinical team in the league last year missed 9 out of 10 shots.

Basically, no team has to take their chances or score every decent chance, it's just not possible. Most elite strikers have a conversion rate of somewhere between 15-25%. We just want to improve by 1-2 percentage points if we can, which is literally 1 or 2 more goals every 100 shots!

While this is true, how do the new rules effect us? Think I remember seeing someone say they actually favour us more than before (us and Wrexham, apparently).
I haven't got a scooby on what it all means. I know before, the concern was we couldn't spend what we wanted because of the financial rules - has any of that changed? If so how. Can someone please explain as if they are talking to a 5 years old with the attention span of an elderly goldfish, please?

Interesting that - cheers - 8.1% is amazingly low.
I would say though, doesn't account for the type or ease of chance? ie Stanno's misses against Wrexham and last nights header were absolute sitters - and we really shouldn't be missing them.
At least we are creating chances now and they will eventually pay off more, I believe.

That definitely helped my understanding - wonder where we stand on it all? I'm assuming we have wriggle room as we were willing to drop a wedge on Gelhardt? if we can shift a couple of duffers out, we can still do something in January then.

I’m amazed they got voted in. Especially as our revenue doubles plenty. We generate £60m for example we can spend £51m of that. A team with £30m revenue can spend £25.5m plus the £33m in 3 years top up

I’ve been there mate. Home and Away. Seen us beat better sides than Southampton last season as well. So I won’t call getting a point in a game we should’ve won brilliant.
Those old days are gone. This isn’t lickle old Blues with a 5k wage cap any more. We are one of the big boys now

I made this point a while ago when someone said we’d beaten better sides before, well okay but if we beat every team that was better than us regularly we’d be the best team in the world.

Sometimes you draw or lose to better teams and that’s the way it will always be for every team. Southampton are a good team. They had Jwp coming off the bench, they’re ahead of us right now.
