A season tickets works out at around £17 per game

Buying tickets on a game by game basis will work out on average at around double that.

Quite rightly if you buy a tickets to every home game individually over a season you will be placed at the top of the season ticket waitlist.
Anyone who does that must be made of cash.

Due to the demand and how often the ground has been sold out since Knighthead has came in there are no longer match by match deals to fill seats.

There is and never will be more than a few giving up their season ticket for someone on the waitlist to have their place.

The reality is 96% (or something like that) on the waitlist will have to ... wait until the Powerhouse is open to get a season ticket.

I believe your last quote is right. 👍

Those on last seasons waiting list buying a home ticket for every game and a min of 4 away games made the cut and was offered a ST.

However this season is different as the only available ST seats come end of season will be those that for whatever a many reason don’t renew. So in effect that could be your 4% you guesstimate.

Gonna be quite a few unhappy prospects who were looking to make the grade.
As you say.. we won’t satisfy those 1000’s until we reach the powerhouse stadium.

I think it is a genuine question from the poster. I've been on here for over two years, and season ticket holder for 30+ years, so hope I qualify to answer.

Again it is the communication from the club. When you announce what they did around ST attending games and then 2,500 seat are empty at what was an A grade game, I think people have the right to question, the clubs comments.

Many around me last night where commenting on the empty seats and in hospitality, so it is not isolated.

Do we have 14,000 on the waiting list? Maybe. So where are these people, when tickets are available?

13,999 were washing their hair.

We should also ban for life all the ST holders who post racist shit on t'internet .... so much for our "no room for racism in football or the community" pledge

and also ban for life any fecker who is proven to be a Reform or Restore member/supporter/voter as they are all racists by default anyway

Haha - if you could do that you'd probably be down to Covid levels of attendance! 🤣

The cut was much smaller amount of games needed than that. I got offered mine a few days after the date given, so I assume they went down the waiting list and got to me. In the end I had done 14/28 points last season (I say that because 5 midweek games were double points).

If you were able to do midweek games you were at an advantage because I didn't need to go to 14, but went to 9. But 14 games x £35 = £490, which is how much season tickets are anyway. And the truth is even avid fans don't want to spend that kind of money when they don't know if it's worth it. It's a lot of money and some games come back to back too quickly to afford it.

I think the club are missing a trick by not telling active fans how high they are in the waiting list. Other clubs do. Because I had no idea when I was in the list, if my final games of the season were worth doing.

No issue with the question - I'm a bit wary of posters who just appear out of nowhere and start slagging the club, there's been a few recently - looks I was wrong about this one and probably over suspicious. He registered on the 26th of August, so it seemed - 'off'.

No need to be ‘wary’ though. Who the poster is, or when they joined is totally irrelevant. Just judge what’s been said.

id say we don't have a real 14k on a waitlist. Its easy to bang in an email address and be on the waitlist. Costs nothing.

If you asked these 14k people to part with their cash for a ST id say 75% wouldn't take up the option. if the club needed evidence of the list then they could put down a reservation fee to go on the list, even if its £20 - club could send em some merch so people feel like they are getting something for that "deposit". Would sort the people who really want a ST and those who just put their name down for the sake of it. Would also generate some additional income.

But then a 14k waitlist almost predicates the decision to build a new stadium of the size mooted so its probably not a bad thing.

Given that we have and will have empty seats for many home games we should look at more innovative offers - could be buy a block of tickets for 5 games get a 20% discount. Midweek season ticket for the remaining 6 midweek home games for 25% off normal ticket price.

I'm all for filling the seats but filling them with people who are invested and want to attend is the way forward.

The club limited the sales of STs to 20,000. We give 2,200 to away fans and with a capacity of around 28,000 now we have around 5,800 tickets available, the majority been in the Railway End.

What I dont understand is why the club didnt sell a thousand or even two thousand more STs, got that guarenteed revenue in and if they were going to do the 'You must put your ST on the exchange' you would have potentially gotten more income that way also if someone wanted a ticket they would have to pay a full match day price for someones ST.

Feel like they have missed a trick there.

I agree. Another 1 or 2k ST holders would ‘guarantee’ more attendees, and match day spend is so much more important than it ever was.

I’d do extra half season ST’s at Xmas for the same average number that we’re running under capacity at that point.

Everton allegedly have 40,000 people on a list waiting for a season ticket.

Everton sell 10,000 per game to ticket unique who sell match tickets to tourists at £150 per match.

Also, local hotels inflate prices on match days.

That is why people buy football clubs.

They are not bothered about empty seats at Hill Dickinson.

What about the worst X1 of all time..........has that been posted before ?

We've been here 25 years now (in September) - and a lot of us were together elsewhere before that - everything's been posted

The problem with "your worst X1" is that there are a LOT of players who only made one or two appearances and it gets really obscure .... perhaps it needs a "played a minimum of 10 games" caveat or something

Gary Sprake usually takes the keeper's role by the way - probably due to him costing £40,000 (breaking the British record transfer fee for a goalkeeper in the process) and yet being the only player i can remember being booed on to the pitch on his debut after an interview he did with the Evening Mail before his debut saying something like "i'd never have considered moving to a club like Birmingham if it wasn't for the fact that i need the game time to get back in the Welsh squad"

Spike will probably remember the exact quote

or Colin Tattum - since i think he may have been at The Mail at the time (or it may have been on ATV actually)

I haven’t caught up with all the posts so apologies if there is any repetition, but I thought 32 for a ticket was a bit steep for a midweek game given all the other factors discussed (few home games in a short space of time, tv etc).

Is it not possible for the club to offer up tickets on the cheap last minute if they clearly aren’t going to sell out? Appreciate there is an argument to say that everyone would then wait, but equally there is then no guarantee of getting a ticket at all or decent spot if you did. I have a ST so no benefit to me other than I like to see the ground full.
