I am sure I read somewhere the reasoning was because stats backed up something about being in winning positions at half time so we try to start fast.

I could be wrong and completely trying to rationalise why it is that we do it.

Starting fast makes the most sense to me

The buried horse mounds have reappeared and it's easier to defend the uneven bounce than attack it.

We did it against Barcelona as well, but partly I think due to the sun that evening..

For the last half dozen or so matches we've played to the Tilton in the first half. It's obviously a Blues choice.
I do not mind so long as we play well.

Though we ought to line up at the GM end to start with if it is our preferred starting end. It's slightly odd to line up the other way round then swap every game..

Someone on here mentioned a little while ago when I questioned it that its a data driven decision based on maximising the advantage in the first half of attacking the 'home goal'

I like to think I am quite level headed about most Blues related things but the switching ends really annoys me. To the point I know I am being irrational but can't seem to stop it annoying me.

I reckon it's linked to all the moments seen at the Tilton end and subconsciously feeling as though I am being deprived a better view of potentially dramatic moments.

It's great when we're chasing a winner and the Tilton is properly up for it, last season though there was more impatience and moaning than there was support. It visibly affected the players in some games and probably cost us points - I don't like it but can see why they've switched.

It felt to me last season like we’d start fast, and sometimes score. And attack the Tilton second half, and sometimes score. So by combining the two maybe they’re hoping we’ll get more goals early?

Another reason could be is that we don't want the opposition shooting towards their fans in the second half

This thread very neatly sums up a key section of our base.

The moaning and negativity of sections of our fans when we attacked the Tilton in the 2nd half was affecting the players and, possibly, our results.

As a consequence, the coach/players have decided to be proactive, take ownership and do something to improve things.

And the same (?) fans who caused the problem are now the ones moaning that they don't like the change in approach because it doesn't suit their individual personal preferences, regardless of the fact it might just make us more likely to get a result.

Personally as a fan I am 100% in favour of anything that gives us an advantage, even if it's just psychological.

I also sit fairly close to the HW line so it doesn't make any odds to me!

How do you know it’s the same fans?

I like us attacking the Tilton second half even if I’m in the GM. And if I was in The Tilton I’d only be sitting quietly grumbling to myself anyway.

Blimey and there’s me thinking it’s safer to go to the football nowadays.

Fans are too ugly in the Tilton, distracts the players, see Stansfields miss for example.
