Deserves a mention playing where he should be playing. Looks so much more comfortable playing off Priske compared to our wide. Gutted he didn’t net last night but he looks sharp and injury free (I hope). Just a shame he’s not as quick as some think or as quick as he was 3 years back, he hit the post because he couldn’t run away from a defender who slipped.
But he still sets the standard in our side for work rate and the press.
For all his faults he’s a good kid and a proper 100%er

He has fantastic acceleration but his top speed is fairly average.

Needs one to go in off his arse. That header last night and the chance against Wrexham would make Kyogo blush.

I love him. His work rate is the best I've ever seen down the blues, you get the feeling he'd take a bullet for the club.

We know he can finish so I'm not worried like I was with Kyogo.

Much better and the makings of a decent partnership in my view. I’m not writing off Vazquez either as others have done. Best playing off/with another striker. We look far more dangerous in this formation. We have to score more goals and this think is our best route.

I love Stanno, his energy and enthusiasm drives the whole team to press and run and actually make tackles high up the pitch (not just try and jockey/block).

That said, he should have scored 3 goals in the last two games and if he had then we'd be on 10 points and not 6 (even being kind he should have taken one of those 3 chances).

Hopefully he'll come good soon as him and Priske both being a threat would trouble every defence in the Championship.

I thought he was very unlucky with that chance.

I think he may have have enough pace to get away from the defender had he chosen to go towards the left of the goal, but he made the decision to run across the defender (rightly in my view) in order to get a better angle for the shot, which beat the keeper. Doing so allowed the defender to catch up, but two inches to the right and he'd have scored.


Just the way I saw it, anyway. 👍

Yeah, that's how I saw it. Running away from the bloke was no problem - running toward the goal was the key.

By cutting across the defender he was always going to get a shot off...unless the guy took the red card.

That was good forward play, a whisker off with the finish.

...should have buried the header though.

Don't think so, no.

It was perfect for Stansfield really, he tried to be too precise I think. Just needed to stick it pretty much anywhere on target, the keeper was dead and buried.
