Essex virtually secure their County Championship Division One status as their match with Warwickshire ends in a rain-ruined draw.

Sad to see so little cricket in July/August, and then see the season peter out like this.

However, it's getting quite interesting down at The Oval

Cracking last day, that. 👍

Nice to see it on proper TV.
There's too much opinion and not enough fact.

Fair play to Notts. Our double over them in 2021 was crucial in that Bears side winning the title that season. They've gone and beaten a Surrey side not quite as dominant as previous seasons but still a damn good side.

Yes it's been a dreadful season from a spectator point of view down Warwickshire for those of us who like to watch proper cricket. I think we've had about 5 days proper cricket since mid May (that includes the one day cup game) or something like that. Used to be our summer sport but it's the head honchos down at Edgbaston who are driving the game into ruins. We used to be like Surrey, Warks used to properly champion the county game

How much does it cost to be a member nowadays for such a paucity of games?

£260 for under 60s. I've just renewed.

That covers the County championship and the Blast. You can add the Hundred if you wish.

Just get a 16-21 yr old season ticket or student one for around £60. They dont check and you just scan your card on entry to a minimum wage employee who doesn't care.
The club is only interested in hosting tests,England one dayers, finals day and the hundred.
Recruitment and youth system are a joke hence Sylvester got a gig this year & Barker has one next year.

It's YOUR club and your fellow members you'd be ripping off.

Nasty.
