The interview with Mo Bobat in this from about 22 mins on is excellent. To be honest he sounds like he’d a good job as a director of football if he had the right data available to him.

I’ve not listened to the podcast, but Mo is a very sharp operator, who did some significant work with England Cricket and is now making a real difference in the Franchise game at RCB (IPL champions 2025) and London Spirit. Certainly understands performance and the role of data in recruitment in particular.

Yeah I’d not heard of him before but I found him really impressive and articulate.

I first heard about Mo Bobat when Frank Jr was involved in the Warwickshire academy. I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to talent ID, and his involvements in the pathway were really interesting to me.

The talent that whispers vs the talent that shouts is something that intrigues me, as well as being less dysfunctional than your opposition.

I think Mo's teacher background is something that has helped him hugely, as well as being a fanatic for the game, without having played to a higher level. It's something that i think can be overlooked in professional sport pathways. Coaching and talent ID is a skill that i don't believe is ingrained simply by having played.
