It's a great win though, even if the scorecard looks a little absurd.

We need that opening partnership to be better.

Winning ugly.

Don’t think we’ve actually played well yet and into the semis.
If the batters can get it right (and they are due to) England can win the tournament.

I think the winner comes from the other group, and I think we lack a bit batting wise.

We might get lucky over a game or two, though, so you never know.

We’ve been awful yet got to the semis.

We are due a performance and could click at the right time.
Be utterly out of the blue but it’s 2 games of T20 now and we could easily sneak it.

Didn’t see any as was on a plane. Says we bowled well, and I think (on the whole) the bowling unit has worked pretty well. Obviously the batting has been poor but just enough good performances and one or two excellent ones - improve somewhat and we’re in it. The format gives a lot of teams a chance, India have hardly dazzled and SA murdered them - but that could easily change (Sri Lanka beat India in a series recently?). That SA team does look like it has it all though - despite being v lucky to beat Afghanistan.

You say we've been awful, but we've won 15 and lost 2 of our last 17 completed T20s. Which is a mental stat, even though I agree it doesn't feel like we've been as good as that.

We're fundamentally an excellent team in this format who are used to winning. And it kind of shows in a way, we've won ugly all tournament which is what good teams do. Several players haven't performed, yet as you say we're still in the semi finals and 2 games away from winning the whole thing

For me, T20 is where Bazball works. Everyone goes out with aggressive intent, someone catches fire and does enough to win. This time it was Brook, i ouldn't back against Buttler comng good.

The difference this time is guys like Curran. Jacks and Overton are playing tough, knock out cricket to get us over the line.

Jacks, Curran and Overton are hugely experienced cricketers in this format, playing as they do in multiple franchise tournaments around the world.

I still think the winner comes from the other group. I wouldn't even rule out the West Indies, who are incredibly powerful and can beat anyone on their day.

I still wouldn't put money on us to win it, but it's T20 so anything can happen.
