Keith Piper passed away today, a great player for the Bears - RIP.

Very sad news. At his peak a far better keeper than Jack Russell. And I saw him make his maiden century alongside some kid from Santa Cruz

A product of that rare era (for cricket at least post 1950's) when working class boys managed to get a look in. Got into cricket through Haringey College didn't he alongside Adrian Rollins, Roland Butcher, Philip De Freitas and Chris Lewis.

Bloody hell, I used to play with pipes for M&B BitD before he went to the Bears.
He was a good lad and a real laugh in the dressing room and the bar too.

A great keeper for the Bears in that triple winning team in 94.
I remember seeing a lot of his family having a great day out in one of the Lords gardens at the Pavilion end during one of the number of times we made it down there.
