Definitely recommend getting one. I have been using one for a couple of years since I lost my V60. Very useful if only one person drinks coffee (so you don't want to make a full french press cafetiere) and much more consistent results than a moka pot in my experience.
I don't do the inverted method, instead once I've put the water in pull the plunger up slightly to create a vacuum.
As always, fresher the beans the better
I've had one for about 5 years and I love it, and use it every day. I actually have a 2nd one that I take when I travel.
Fresh ground beans are key, and the size of the grounds can impact the flavour a lot.
Fat Buddha CBEI've been using beans from Artisan Roasters to n Edinburgh lately, pretty good. Hay Roasters are also good and James Gourmet in Ross on Wye.
Bought a vag of Puro organic in a pre Christmas panic and that's ok.
There's hundreds, but a specialist that roasts then sends is always going to be better than a supermarket or buying a brand. Especially in your rolls Royce of a machine.
I usually pay 25 to 30 quid a kilo
There's specialist and then there's whatever that is FB!
Louie DonowaRicky BlottoSage Barista Express 👌🏻 game changing.
Haven't got too fancy with the beans yet though, just use the stock Waitrose ones.
That's my machine too. Consistently excellent - I buy beans from my local coffee shop though - £11 for 250g, so about 80p a cup.
I’ve got a hand grinder and a Aeropress I used it before I got the Barister Express. The Aeropress is good but not anywhere near the same as the Express.
I get all my beans from The Coffee Roaster in Shirley, they have a good selection of roasted beans.
Interesting to read comments on this machine.
We have a Nespresso. We also bought the milk frother. It's ok, but the pods need something with them to make the coffee even just drinkable. I put a glug of syrup in.
I was utterly disappointed to start with, we've got a Bosch thing in the utility and the pods are so much nicer out of that. I've just got used to shoving the syrup in now.
Been looking at these for a while and decided to bite the bullet after reading the comments on here.
We have a Tassimo but I despise throwing a piece of plastic away every time I make a coffee.
Ordered an Aeropress Go from Pact Coffee, the cheapest I could find with a quick Google search. £35 with 250g coffee.
I have a Tassimo (love my americano grande) but I send all the empty pods off to a recycling plant

It’s simple don’t walk around slurping yer drinks. It’s not necessary and makes you look like an idiot. Waitrose is full of twerps wandering around sucking on a carton like a baby on a tit.
Tossers.
Yes had one for years, they make a great cup of coffee with zero mess. Invest in a metal filter rather than paper ones. The only downside is you can't get any crema on your coffee.
You shouldn't have blades in your grinder you need burrs they're far superior
I'd recommend a Moka pot personally. I roast my own beans at home (fresh as they come!) so try to buy whole bean and get yourself a burr grinder and grind on demand. This will give you the best tasting coffee you could imagine.

Yeah, burrs. Burrs not blades. I meant burrs. I'd forgotten the word. I think I've reached my capacity for word retention so I'm having to ditch a few to make room for new ones.
James coffee roast,er Ross on Way have good selections that change
